playground does not want to make a simpson’s hit and run game.
Not if whoever owns the licensing doesn’t want to do it.
Also, I’m sorry to have to say it but it would be a waste of Playground’s time. Any other external studio could do it. Playground will work on far bigger games.
Even if it were a double A game develoepd at the same time as the next Forza? That’s silly to say its impossible, there are plenty of examples of game studios working on two games at a time.
Playground is already working on two games at a time, Fable and Forza Horizon, which are far bigger and more worthy of their time and investment.
I expect that the racing studio is going to have to eventually make more than Forza Horizon in the future. Game Pass and all lets them experiment with different genres and games.
Imo, if Playground agrees, it should be a dlc for Forza Horizon 6(or 5 with how well that’s going).
Studios can make two games at once. Look at Tango Gameworks. We need to see more studios create those double a/AAA smaller releases because there’s more creativity and faster releases with those kind of smaller scale projects.
Working on smaller games is fine and great, but I just don’t think Hit and Run specifically makes sese as a smaller game that PG should work on. Also, they will need all hands on deck for Fable (and yes the FH team will assist on Fable).
Yes, and Playground is making Fable and Forza Horizon at once. That’s why I think as a dlc for Forza Horizon it could be part of the development, without needing to make a 3rd team.
Second 343i job opening since 2022. Glad to see that they’re starting to rebuild.
I agree and had issues like I said but once I changed to performance mode and decreased the sensitivity to 1, those issues were pretty much gone as im not having the same issue that I had in the first three hours. I then started the game over on performance mode with the sensitivity set to 1 for both vertical and horizontal. Since then, no issues. Have played about 10 hours as of this past Sunday but won’t play again until Friday night or Saturday due to work.

State Of Decay 3 maybe?
Halo Reach part 3
(honestly don’t know but looks nice anyway)
The Last of Us Part III is what comes to mind first and foremost. If SOD 3 looks like that image, oh man, I will be very pleased.
I don’t think Xbox is gunna have an issue moving forward having 4 AAA games a year.
Activision on their own(assuming deal goes through) looks to produce around 1.5 per year. 1 COD a year, and a game every other year from blizzard and toys for bob.
The rest of xbox should produce 3.5-4.5 per year. Probably like 6 in 2025 lol.
So that’s 5-6 per year. Xbox will be on a huge roll.
For 2024
- COD
- blizzard survival game
- Hellblade
- avowed
- towerborne, I consider AA but looks good
- more according to Phil.
I hope Activision after MS acquires then move COD to a 2yr cycle and decouple a couple of the studios to work on other ip both new and existing.
I prefer COD to become a platform. Skip 2024 and come back in 2025 with a new COD and make it a platform. I would eliminate yearly or even bi-yearly releases.
Microsoft probably won’t do this because too much money is made from yearly releases but it’s what I wish they would do.
While I also have that preference, unless they have have real worry about franchise fatigue I don’t know how they could justify doing that either from too many titles, or titles at too low of quality.
I’ve been under the impression that the COD developers crunch intensely so maybe Xbox has an issue getting yearly games out if they reduce the crunch.
Not gone to happen. COD make to much money as a stand alone release. They will probably take longer to make COD instead of yearly, but no way are they doing a Platform.
