Yeah, he’s lead designer. I think Riddick is a good baseline of what we should expect from this game.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do with the whip and platforming though. A whip isn’t all that different from a grappling hook, and that works perfectly in first person.
I still think this game shows that they can do what we want in a first person game.
So without jumping to conclusions of course, could this mean they go for seperate levels instead of semi open world map like Shadow of the Tomb Raider? Possibly like Emperor’s Tomb with the seperate levels. You then have sections that are solely in first or third person.
Switching that much between levels would be kinda weird to me IMO. I think it’s much more likely that when in cover, climbing, etc the camera will pull out to a third person view.
So reading the post they have up, I love that they did a series s as a barbie dream house and made xbox clothes for the barbies, but also really cool to see the controller has interchangeable faceplate. They absolutely need to do this with regular controllers or the elite so we can buy faceplate instead of having to always buy a controller. The profit margins should be higher if they can do that and they can do giveaway of new faceplate that would be cheaper for them as well.
Honestly it’s not even that bad. After The Initiative started co development with CD it was clear that it was more or less a reset.
And that Microsoft changes their hands-off approach after Halo and Redfall is good, if the studio need help. And by the looks of it The Initiative need help.
The lack of female employees is not a good look as well, but I really don’t know if it’s the lack of interest or the hiring process.
While I understand the diversity in work field, sometimes it’s just a case of interest in take. I rather have them hire people that are really good or really thrive to develop with everyone than hire someone who still needs more practice but did it for the publicity. If there’s an outing that they could have hire some but refuses because of sexism or racism, then it’s a problem.
Considering it’s been overwhelmingly men who have worked on this project and said project has been bungled a bunch of times now, I don’t think diversity should be the first thing you critique in your post even though I know that’s not your intentions.
Hopefully they figure it out and we get a great end product from it.
