Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

I guess it’s just like the 3D and 2D levels in HiFi rush, tied to certain missions or plots.

I am currently watching a playthrough of Riddick, and I hope it’s not like this. The 1st hour so far has been 1st person gameplay with 3rd person interactions, cutscenes and climbing.

I believe when you flatten yourself against walls it was third person too? But yeah, that wouldn’t be enough. But we’ll have to see, hopefully all works out because not many games are like this.

That’s kinda what I expect from Perfect Dark as well.

Man, if it’s one thing I’ve learned from this whole 1st/3rd person Indy debate, and the 30/60 FPS Starfield debate, it’s that I appear to be in the minority on those and seemingly many other issues that gamers are preoccupied with. I literally couldn’t care less about those things. To me they are entirely inconsequential as to whether these games will be fun.

So far the person playing is just peaking around cover.

I think folks are hoping Indy helps fill a ‘gap’ in the lineup, it’s not all that important to me either.

You are far from the minority

These people are just very loud so they get noticed more, the average person out there playing these games doesn’t give af

Assuming the rumor is accurate, I thought maybe more like Deliver Us the Moon.

I personally prefer 1st person in general, but the developers know what suits their game better.

I’m hoping for something closer to Mirror’s Edge/Catalyst, with better shooting mechanics and more tools if 1st person.

Tomb Raider Reboot with all the same tools if it’s 3rd person.

It’s really cool in the Riddick games and could be well implemented in Perfect Dark. In Indiana Jones, I don’t think it would work well though with all the climbing and jumping.

Yeah, parkour works well in Mirror’s Edge because of the urban environment. When exploring temples and caves less so I think.

Yeah, platforming in first person is awful. I kinda want to see Indy too.

I think it’s because most people expect a Indiana Jones game to be third person, it makes sense to see the character. So far all the games have been third person too. Of course there’s also the fact that it would fill the gap of a third person action adventure game ala Tomb Raider, Uncharted.

In third person you see him all the time, the iconic hat and jacket, the animations when exploring, fighting, climbing, swinging, all that. But at the end of the day it’s their game and they decide. I wonder if Todd had a hand in the decision to also have third person in there. Maybe not.

Hope we see it next year.

If it is 3rd person, it will compared for better or worse to Uncharted.

I’ve personally played and beat escape from butcher bay 2 times. It was a masterpiece imo. One of the best original Xbox games i think.

I would be all for combat being first person, and the rest being third.

Isn’t the director of Riddick also now working as the director or at least a major role in Indiana Jones?

Todd also said that they are blending a lot of genre together or something along those lines in an interview relatively recently

It does kind of add up

I really gotta start with this game sometime soon now.

Let’s take a scenario that Indy is being chased in a car and the driving is third person, once it’s time to shoot back it automatically goes into first person? Or just exploring a temple with lots of platforming, will that solely be first/third since it sounds we can’t change on the fly?

Or like you said, it’s tied to missions. That would mean we only do platforming (or combat) in first person, and in the other mission only combat.

It should be interesting to see how it plays out. Wolfenstein already have bits that can be considered platforming, I guess. I’m glad we at least have some info now, although it’s a rumor, nothing official.

Sequel was also very good. They bundled it with the first game port and what a deal it was.

I wish I could play them on current gen. I still keep my 360 for that purpose.
