Well they do have a leader that has a direction that isn’t Avengers that solely wanted GaaS money, so they are great fit.
I read the article, but it isn’t really anything we didn’t know before. Seems like a massive rehash of things that people have already reported on over the years with a conclusion most here already reached. That PD is a 2025 game.
One thing is for sure, PD was announced way too early. It’s good to know that we shouldn’t expect this game anytime soon.
A re-reveal should be happening within 18 months or so. Booty said this, didn’t he? Ah well, we’ll see.
What’s most important is they seem to have shit sorted now and on a better path, better that and taking a bit longer than getting another Redfall, it’s not like there’s going to be a shortage of games going forward anyway, let them take as much time as they need
Also nice to see how ambitious Darrell is looking to be with the game
Probably more announced for hiring purpose than anything since they were trying to start s studio from scratch. Most likely easier to hire for a game when you can name it if it isn’t a new ip. Like the Indiana Jones game for machine was probably announced as early as it was to help with hiring.
So i have no issue with games announced early for that purpose.
I can tell most of you didn’t read the article.
Nah, I read. there’s nothing about it that strikes me any different from the usual megabudget dev process.
This was actually my point.
well damn don’t be vague then!!! use ya damn words!!!
It’s about time for games that are inspired by Bioshock Infinite to start popping up. By time Clockwork releases there will be more time between it and Infinite than there was between Dead Space and System Shock 2.
True.
But I guess with the news that CD was on board to help i was kinda hoping it wasn’t still very early. But it is what it is. I’m just gonna put my attention on totally other games and I guess we’ll see something between now and 18 months.
Did people expect it any earlier?
It’s very interesting. They talk about Stormlands which could have been an Xbox One launch title but was cancelled by MS early on as they apparently were too involved.
Edit : bunch of layoffs after that project failed and Obsidian wasn’t happy at Xbox at the time…
Dungeon Siege Successor when???
I always thought it was coming late 2025 the earliest. Media still running with “troubled” development for games that take longer than 3 years.
It did have a troubled development though by the reports of things. Glad they seemed to have things ironed out with CD, but it’s a shame that so much work has been lost over the years in development. Hopefully things continue to go smoothly and we really do get the game in 2025.
This report and the previous report about Redfall has me thinking MS should be doing semi-regular anonymous surveys with the teams to get a better understanding on how those in the trenches feel about whatever project they are currently involved in. Maybe that way, Booty and his team can discover potential bottlenecks and issues earlier in the development process. Either that or some other system so that the people under the various leadership roles can have an easier way to share their views.
This is great lol
