The most likely candidates for second half of 2024 (assuming there are games beyond what we already know) are Contraband, Fable and South of Midnight I think.
I’m not saying all three of them will come out then, but I do think it’s possible that we get a combination of 1-2 of them.
They only started full production on Gears last year. 2024 isn’t impossible, but I’m not expecting it. Fable is more likely than Gears in my opinion.
I really don’t think Towerborne or even MSFS count as “big” games for the “at least one big game per quarter” thing. If that’s the case, we can expect 1 or 2 other games in 2024. I think they are treating 2024 like they did 2023; they just don’t want to say “first half” for Hellblade, Avowed etc. because they’ve learned their lesson. But I reckon that’s still the target.
You’re probably right about gears, for sure if it only went into full production in 2022.
Then it appears likely that the only way Xbox has 3 or more AAA games is if the deal with activision goes through. I like you don’t count those other two as “big” games. Fable, forza horizon both likely 2025. Perfect dark, and everwild are 2025 or 2026. Inexile and compulsions new games are either 2025 or 2026. Halo BR COULD be 2024 but it COULD also be 2026 lol. ID softwares game is probably 2025 or 2026. SOD3 is hard to say where that’s at.
2025,2026 are gunna have a massive amount of games lol.
What is even complete? It’s a GAAS. It never complete. New things are added monthly. Facts is that in 2022/2023. Arena shooter of early 2000’s are not that popular anymore.
Do you expect that Gamescom will have something new? They probably won’t have a show, I’m sure they’d announced that by now. Or Quakecon? Then of course there’s the possibility of XO23 and TGA.
Halo fans are always pissed though. Truth is that even if Infinite launch with Forge and everything else day 1. It will still lose most of it playerbase 6 months to 1 year later. Just not that popular nowdays.
Halo lore and universe is big. A Halo open world space RPG would have massive hype and revive Halo again. The continue FPS arena shooter formula is running dry IMO.
There was also something, I think during the giant bomb sit down, where I believe either Phil or Matt B said something about not having announced all of the 2024 games yet. Whether that includes Fable or not…
Nah, Xbox hasn’t really shown much new stuff at the event . I think you might see something new at the game awards, but I think they might skip that again
