The presentation was enough, you don’t need to show much for a game that releases in late 2024, even HB2 hasn’t shown much.
I mean Starfield’s graphics and environment have been improve quite a bit since it was shown off last, so it may not be too long for Avowed.
We got like 18 months from now until the end of 2024, I wouldn’t make any assumptions.
Remember, we’re in half 2023. We got plenty of time to determine what and when.
I see Hellblade 2 as being November 2024 and Avowed as September 2024. Flight Simulator in June 2024 and probably Towerborne and one or two other games in the first half of 2024.
Oh this great to hear. The trailer had some bad shots that need addressing.
Forza Horizon 6 Q4, Fable 2025
All we really can do is wait for more news, and hopefully when Microsoft gives us release dates they all happen to align.
FH6 is 2025, the first FH next gen and Matt Booty already said AAA games will take 4-6 years.
Look at how far Starfield progressed in a year. I think Avowed will be fine for 2024.
edit
Halo Infinite as well.
Current reactions to broad dates are what I expected tbh. If people don’t get a specific date they will start to worry about the release date lol.
Same shit happend on the Sony side with Spider Man 2. Still is preferable to announcing a specific date and having to delay a game again though. I’m thinking the broad dates will be industry standard from now on. No more specific dates till like 6 to 3 months from release.
Don’t know why anyone would doubt Obsidian. Don’t even try being Alpha Protocol. That game has quite the history. They will deliver.
There is a difference between story based AAA and Forza. Besides motorsport which was completely rebuilt since 2018, horizon was already a current gen showpiece. Stop calling it next gen, we are almost 3 years into this gen.
Horizon will come out 2024. They don’t want to be in a situation where they have no Horizon on game pass. 4 will get delisted by September. The games only stay listed for 4 years.
If that 4 year lifespan was still the case FH4 would have been delisted past September/October.
Yup. You are right. I am wrong ![]()
They must’ve renegotiated car licenses for longer as it was the first day one Game Pass Forza game.
I would say I could see a new a Horizon game happening in late 2024 though, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a 2025 release. Depends on how iterative the sequel is and how they are using the new Forza Tech features.
(Hope it’s Japan this time)
It’s 2025, earliest. They took longer than usual for the DLCs, much of the creative leadership recently left and it will be the first next gen only Horizon on the new engine. Also, Xbox doesn’t need Horizon 6 in 2024. They can, should and will take extra time.
Fable will be first.
They do not really need a new Horizon for the moment. It will not draw more subs to Gamepass, and currently there is no competition to FH on any platform. Of course, they need to keep their teams busy, so maybe more DLC could be an easy win (DLC are cheaper to do, are not included in gamepass and push the users to buy the base game).
Also FH5 was the first game designed for gamepass. It makes sense their car licences are on a longer term.
On the other end, MS has shown with Flight Simulator, that they do not hesitate to deliver a new product if the content deserves it, so maybe I am all wrong.
This isn’t technically true. FH4 launched on Game Pass too, and it hasn’t been delisted yet so they must have extended licenses.
We will get a Horizon 6, but it won’t be for a few years.
What about Contraband? I was surprised not to see it at the showcase. In my opinion, the game could be a candidate for a late 2024 release (much more so than Fable).
