What a great game Diablo 4 is, finished the campaign yesterday and wow the last acts, specially last one, that’s all i can say without spoilers.
The game reminds me of what 343i tried with Halo, they created not just a game but a platform for the future expansions and leagues, but at the same time they managed to create a big and diverse world and a very good campaign, Blizzard’s definitely back and their future looks very interesting.
And just like many of us criticize MS for the lack of marketing, gotta say i am seeing Diablo 4 and Xbox ads everywhere in the internet, hope to see more of that, Starfield will be like this too, but i hope Hellblade and Avowed follows with big marketing campaigns.
Bet this Diablo is going to move a good amount of Xbox
I actually thought Infinite was a lot more fun than Halo 4 and 5. The lack of environment diversity hurt it, and I don’t even know what’s going on with the story anymore. It might just be time for a complete reboot from scratch. But the core of the campaign was great.
Always heard great things about Viva Pinata. Never got to play it myself though always thought it looked amazing graphically for it’s time. Almost like a Pixar movie.
My problem with Infinite is the same problem with Halo 5, the story drops the previous story to tell something new instead of continuing with what was there.
For example they brought back the Covenant in the form of the Banished. Which made no sense because in Halo 4 the split Covenant faction still fighting against humanity was established. But in Halo 5 they killed off the Storm Covenant to tell the AI uprising story, that was to disjointed.
Only for then the AI uprising to be scrapped for the Banished that apparently are so strong(such a bad choice), that humanity is pretty much back to Bungie Halo days in terms of their strength. They also somehow got Cortana to work with them for no apparent reason for me.
Imo, Halo Infinite is a great game, but the Banished are the weakest part of it.
Yes, you could really feel how they were straining to tell a “classic Halo story” without completely throwing away the setup from the previous game… but basically throwing away the setup from the previous game.
I myself don’t mind when they do things in the books(love the books), but because they change the main enemies every game it feels like there’s a disconnection between Halo 4 - Infinite.
I’m not a Halo superfan or anything and I don’t closely follow the story, but I’ve gotten whiplash from the last two games following up cliffhanger endings with… something totally different that didn’t address the cliffhanger. Halo needs to either follow the same story thread for more than one game in a row, or do an actual, not soft, reboot.
Hopefully Infinite onward will stick to the Banished as the main antagonist, with the new enemy revealed at the end working along side them not taking over.
Yep. I think the next game should finish the current arc and finally retire MC, Cortana, etc. Something they should have done earlier imo, but it is what it is.
