Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

Better delayed than releasing broken or with missing stuff.

Bioshock Infinite is really good. Almost 10/10 to me.

Bioshock 2 is the best one though.

We should make a thread with controversial takes like this. It’s okay to like medium or mediocre stuff. It put things into perspective.

Let’s not do this lol, its a different studio and Redfall failing doesn’t mean the rest of bethesda will, HiFi Rush and Deathloop was critically acclaimed, while ghostwire tokyo was good. Yeah, its upsetting, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t really tell that bethesda(the publisher) will release bad games. BGS never made a bad single player game, only a GAAS one like fallout 76, same with whats happening with Arkane right now.

Agreed.

But in Starfield’s case it’s different. It’s been content complete for a while now, and it’s almost a full year since the initial release date that they had polishing phase.

I know, I’m well aware. But I will breath a sigh of relief when it’s installed and ready to get booted up on my XSX.

Redfall will be one of those games with mixed reviews, this seems clear by now, so I hope when I try it tomorrow to find a complete product, free of big bugs and full of content. I will not tolerate at all if after almost a year of delay I find annoying bugs and frame drops for a 30fps game.

Strap in buddy, because bugs happen in every game no matter how long it’s been develop. What you can tolerate is going to determine how much you enjoy it.

I get that Redfall may not be a good game, but the amount of dog piling going on with this game in the industry seems extremely excessive from “professionals.”

Has anyone been able to play with the day one patch installed?

Here goes my tinfoil hat theory: Bethesda has delayed the review embargo till the last minute possible because they are absolutely short on time and they don´t want reviews without the day one patch to sway away possible buyers. Day one patch will probably fix a lot of the issues but reviews won´t be so nice maybe.

If the game does millions of players on Game Pass, they will move goal posts and say but the UK box sales were bad!

Yeah that is right. You may review a game you legitimately think is not good but the moment you see thumbnails with the shit emoji as I am seeing right now… That is not necessary.

They had it out for this game. Same thing happened with Forspoken. Some people partook in the gleeful dog piling themselves in here.

Redfall’s biggest sin

Would be a brilliant retention strategy if the final boss kill gives you an achievement that ends with “3”

I reviewed it without the day one patch. I’ve gone back now and played it more to update my review.

Bugs are inevitable in any game, I know that too. I was referring to those bugs that ruin the gaming experience like crashes or big drops in frame rate. So I really hope I don’t find them again, given the recent games released so far…

Awesome. Heres hoping others follow suit

I aint gon hold you, I’ve viewed Redfall as a “Prey didn’t sell so we’re in the GAAS doghouse” kind of game for a little while now. Similar to Bleeding Edge, they’re a good studio so the effort is there but it’s not reeeeallly what the studio would have wanted that game to be but it’s how you’re going to get the project greenlit.

Absolutely ridiculous from opencritic.

Not so open then. Very much a critic though.

Do these people realise they are dogpiling on the work of human beings? Nobody sets out for their game to be bad. Sometimes things just don’t work out. It’s one thing being disappointed. Another being gleeful.
