Ok bit extreme. I take that back. But if the game turns out to be great and it was the marketing and previews that hindered it. Heads have to roll.

I lot of the negative discourse has been amplified by console wars, these idiot fanboys who probably won’t even play the game are amplifying negativity and that’s unfair to the devs.

Just because you don’t like an ad, doesn’t mean the game has bad marketing.

Arkane should probably be used to it, I think they make games that are difficult to market unfortunately.

How is this related to redfall? Which by the very definition has had poor marketing.

Heres a tip. Moderate your pre launch content and dont let shit like that ign gameplay vid to make a mockery of your game. If it wasnt for xbox centric cntent creators to actuslly upload good gameplay it would have left that garbage to promote the game

I dint buy arkane games are hard to market

Go back to dishonored. Phenomenal mRketing job

It was people’s own fault for mistaking it as a “Left 4 Dead” clone since nothing shown remotely looked like Left4 dead in any way. If you looed at what was shown and thought it was like Left 4 Dead I question if you actually ever played that game or even saw it.

I don’t care about the bad marketing complex people have with this. However, you’re being very disingenuous. Everyone thought the game was “left 4 dead” for nearly two years. Then randomly a few months ago in early January the creative director said in an interview it was more Far Cry. They had plenty of time to set the record straight much earlier and they didn’t.

“Everyone” did not think it was Left4Dead. Specifically the people who actually played Left 4 Dead in particular. The comparison itself was disingenuous at best.

Then that’s a sad f****** reality where they have to f****** tell you specifically no not like this like this when I looked at the game I’m looked and heard shooter loot and vampires this after a year it was revealed if you saw Left 4 Dead when you saw Redfall initially then I understand but a year later they showed more and it wasn’t Left 4 Dead and if you did see that there’s something wrong with you

i said it then and i’ll say it now, if you thought redfall looked anything like left 4 dead based on the marketing, you don’t actually play left 4 dead which leads me to wonder why you would even make the comparison.

What of the trailer made it look like L4D? I saw no giant hordes of enemies swarming the main characters, no set piece moments , no talk of an AI director. Things that are hallmarks of L4D and it’s clones. Characters that have abilities/ powers , going after a few armed guys and one powerful enemy (a Vampire in this case.) How does one get “L4D clone” from that? Again have you ever played Left 4 Dead?

I guess the issue would be them giving the audience too much credit and assuming they had the least bit of common sense in this case.

Some people said it already dude the game first revealed we didn’t know a lot about it I guess you could kind of see them fight a wave of cultist and vampires and you might have got a Left 4 Dead vibe , The second time they showed that game they made it bluntly clear that it was going to be looter shooter with a vampires and open world and that was last year it pisses me off that it took the director to finally tell you it’s like far cry the all of a sudden it clicked for half the people in this community That’s a you problem if you initially thought Left 4 Dead for 2 years because again like last year it was told to you what type of game it was

I think they’re saying marketing wise because hifi rush wasnt marketed due to being shadow dropped. Redfall was the first game to get a traditional marketing rollout since halo infinite. So, I understand what they’re saying

It looks playable at least. Anecdotally I find 30 fps works better in urban environments with limited foliage & effects on screen. The above Redfall clip seems better than Far Cry 5 on the Xbox One X for example, i.e. a game where the 30 fps cap combined with a very saturated foliage heavy environment gave me a bit of a headache.
