This report about Redfall having been canned for PS5 has folks going crazy on Twitter. Hilarious comments like how this just killed the ABK deal. Folks really just have no idea.
Seriously, Sony went behind MS’ back to strike one year exclusivity deals fort Deathloop and Ghostwire and tried for Starfield, so what…People expect MS was still gonna let Arkane keep working on PS5 Redfall? Foh.
Either this was just a cool little tech demo for the showcase or this will have the largest graphical upgrade between demos ever. Her face looks 2 generations better than what they showed at the Game Awards a couple years ago.
Metahuman the tech behind that demo is only lunching this summer so it has me thinking I wonder if that has impacted dev time of HB2 which could explain why it’s taking a little longer than expected.
But yeah I that clip is way better than the first demo, but the first demo is still extremely impressive. If the end game is anything emotely like either one is going to be huge.
Keep in mind that the demo was about using an iPhone to make meta humans. And that is what going to launch in coming months
Metahumans actually is already available for months to build upon.

The gameplay demo looked fantastic, but it also looked believable for real time. This here? I’d argue it looks better than the announcement trailer and that was already insane.

There is no way that’s the actual ingame face. Everything in that demo was great, but her face looked somewhat soft/blurry, a bit. This here would be a crazy improvement. Never say never I guess, but doubt it.

Lol but you knew that. Some folks only care about video game drama.
MS made no promises or written binding agreements for Zenimax games, so MS canning the PS5 version should not be shocking.
I’m 100% in favor of this. For one reason I’ve stated elsewhere: focus on Xbox Series (and, obviously, PC) capabilites first. Push the hardware. Hard. Then, if it makes business sense, look in to porting to other console platforms. Maybe.
The game wasn’t announced at all until the Xbox Bethesda showcase in 2021

I have no sympathy for fanboys or Sony or whoever is complaining. They now feel what Xbox fans felt when games skipped their platform. Anyhow, this is how the industry works and if they don’t want games taken away from them, they should advocate for a no exclusivity future for the gaming industry, but they won’t lol.
You can tell where there priorities are!
