I’ve been saying this since XO when it was announced they were being bought. I loved all of the 2018 studio announcements but, as someone who grew up with Interplay/InXile and Black Isle/Obsidian, I was most excited for those two because I knew what they both were capable of with proper budgets. It’s a great thing for people to see how special Obsidian truly is (arguably one of the most efficient studios in the industry). They’re just getting started

…what the hell?? Grounded in the top 20 for dollar sales in October NICE, not bad for a small indie game that wasn’t cancelled for Elder Scrolls 6 huh.

Minecraft, Grounded and potentially CoD: MW2 in the top 20 is very impressive, especially when everyone says Xbox has no games…

Ironically the other competitor does not appear in the top 20 at all.

Josh making a AAA project again would be cool but honestly there’s two AAA teams in Obsidian, Josh can keep making small team passion projects while being studio design director guiding and nurturing younger talents within the studio and consulting the AAA projects too, and that would be a cool way of going forward too.

AA/Indie title is fine. I just want to see what it could be. I would love to see a small AA Fallout isometric action RPG. I think that could be pretty cool.

I’m still amazed that 76 outlived Red Dead Online, Multiversus, Battlefield, Gears 5, Anthem, Avengers, The Division and so many other dead Live-Service games while suffering the worst launch of the last 15 years.
