Xbox Game Studios |OT10| Here are the games

Yeah people forget after fo4 their reputation took a hit. I remember many were disappointed with eso, wolfenstein young blood, fo76 , and even the outer world capitalized on their reputation taking a hit

Yep, they had to cobble up a trailer for TES6 knowing damn well it wasn’t releasing within the next 6-8 years because they needed some ounce of positivity from the community.

That’s how bad it was for them lol.

amazing devs

Any of the stupid shit Bethesda did last gen FO4 wasn’t one of them, that game was overall really good regardless and I don’t think it was a bad hit to their reputation, it’s other things that followed later like FO76 and some of those bad spin-off experiments. All true and we should throw criticism where deserved, especially the launch of FO76, but people also underappreciate Bethesda as a publisher I feel, they were one of my favorites last-gen with DOOM, TEW, Dishonored, Prey, Wolfenstein, and FO4. I specifically appreciate them giving Arkane the space for AAA immersive-sim games, I see virtually no other publisher that would have :man_shrugging:

I think that had more to do with managing expectations, they knew people expected ES6 to be their next game after Fallout 4 and that there’d be people concerned that they were making a multiplayer focused title. Announcing ES6 was an easy way to say “Hey we’re doing other stuff first, but ES6 is still the single player experience you want and it’s still coming”.

Biggest problem was the dialogue system and dumb down Rpg elements. Still a good game.

There’s room for criticism towards FO4 and analysis of where some things went wrong but the game overall is much better than to be the point of a bad reputation. It sold really well, scored high, was the 2nd most awarded game of the year, that’s not a bad reputation at all.

If he’s still in shape, I’d prefer his voice actor, Lester Speight. Michael Jai White could pull it off too.

That’s surprising. Witcher 3, MGS 5 and Bloodborne were released as well.

That’s what I keep saying, BGS are industry darlings, all their mainline games were either GOTY winners or runner ups and all sold well. The fact that there are people who are estranged by people being hyped for Starfield is astounding to me. I won’t deny there’s some of the distrust from FO76 but I can’t deny there’s a lot of it because they’re now under Xbox :man_shrugging:

FO4 still gets 10-15k players every day on Steam, I imagine it also does well on Xbox/GP

It’s hate is extremely overblown

Witcher 3 was a slow burn opposed to FO4 being MASSIVE on launch.

As the years went by, Witcher 3 has definitively become the game that defines 2015 while FO4 hasn’t really aged the greatest in terms of perception.

If they can release it while in the same state as Fallout 4,I say would say it’s go time. I didn’t have many issues with that game at launch and I played it to death. BGS games will always have some kind of bugs. So unless it really simply isn’t ready at all, release it.

If for example they need the extra time to add in a performance mode, I would hope they just release the game and we’ll get that mode once its done. As much as I’d love 60fps here, 30fps is not a deal breaker for me at all.

But the fact IS that the first half of next year has plenty of games, both on Game Pass and outside of it, first party and third party. That could make the decision to delay further easier, I imagine.

Depends.

FO4 has more daily players than The Witcher 3 (even despite competing with FO76) on Steam and never left the top 50 on Xbox (The Witcher 3 didn’t chart since years). And that’s despite the Netflix series airing since 2019 while the Amazon’s Fallout series still hasn’t released.

You don’t get that Cyberpunk 2077 levels of hype without Witcher 3 being the success that it is and the good will that CDPR created with that game.

Now juxtapose that with Starfield, the sentiment isn’t quite the same. People are looking at Starfield as a game to remind how great Bethesda is/used to be rather than how people looked at CDPR after Witcher 3.

So yeah, it does depend on your POV.
