Undead will be well over that, they’ve been hiring steadily for quite a while now.
The news with Avengers suck not gonna lie but let’s focus on the positive.
We might get the announcement for gold getting free.
This month seems to be a fest for gamepass And soon we have new stuff to talk about.
I mean even with these stupid timed content in games there couldn’t be anyone denying how big the value for xbox and game pass is.
WILL BE FUN FOR SURE
Jeff has the Xboxing day moved back to between the 22nd and 27th.
State of Decay IP deserves AAA quality
Indeed. State of Decay 2’s production values and glitches were disappointing. I could live with it as a small indie for the weak Xbox 360, but with a bigger budget, longer development and higher price point I expected more. Here’s hoping 3 will make the jump!
Fair enough. But it’s a point in the timeline of the new console generation when I believe Xbox couldn’t afford “hold the cards until is ready to show”. Now people must know what the studios are doing, if it’s something that grabs their interest. Sometimes it works (like Avowed), sometimes it doesn’t (like Grounded - just NOW many people are praising the game). I saw many people delighted with State of Decay 3 trailer, and it just don’t tell us anything really useful about what we should expect from the game. It just breaths “quality”, and Undead Labs couldn’t show any gameplay with this result so early in development. Would that be misleading? Maybe, only time will tell. So, I understand the following: MS needed to do what it did in 2020. But I also understand there is a difference in perception if you already are on Game Pass and if you are not.
I don’t game as much lately, big AAA gaming is not as diverse or creative as it used to be, IMO… not many games capture my atention nowadays at least not in the sense of a complete package; maybe I’ll like the idea or concept but the esxecution falls short or the art style / tech / gfx don’t pull me in…etc
but I will always have a soft spot for Microsoft’s IPs and I’m really excited to see if Fable, Avowed, The Initiative game, etc, will finally push the envelope back to the jaw-dropping quality I expect from Xbox.
I’m a graphics designer, so you’ll be seeing mostly art, images and such from me. Nice to meet you all!
Excellent OT!!! Love seeing all the studios listed with their games info and whatnot.
Between InXile, Undead Labs and Compulsion Games, I definitely see InXile being the most impressive with their next gen only title but if Undead can somehow get SOD 3 to look like the reveal trailer did then, it will be close.
As for the Xbox Games Showcase, I personally would rate it an 8.0/10. Great pacing, 20+ games shown, 4 exclusives announced, everything except for Crossfire X is on Game Pass day one but outside of Halo Infinite, minimal to no gameplay shown which was very disappointing and at least half of the games shown are of no interest to me.
Game Pass is one of the several reasons why im day one for Xbox Series X. In fact, will pre-order it at GameStop once it becomes available to do so. The value of Game Pass is insane. I already have Halo Infinite, Gears Tactics and Ori and the Will of the Wisps to play day one at launch via Game Pass.
As someone who stopped collecting games with the Xbox 360/PS3 era, being able to play games day one for $10-$15 a month instead of spending $60+ is a huge positive for me. I also very rarely replay games so every game is a one and done. I normally buy games on disc, play it, complete it and trade it in. The only games I will be buying will be those that are not on Game Pass day one and I want to play them. Will only buy games digitally if it’s a game I know im 100% all in on and will play the expansions, etc. Perfect examples would be Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. I know im going to play the expansions for them so going digital day one is perfect.
Other games like Watch Dogs Legion which I want to play will be bought on disc and if/when I complete the game, I trade it in.
Back to Game Pass though, it’s perfect for games like The Medium for me because there’s no way im spending $50 on it especially since it’s a 50/50 game that I may or may not end up completing so Game Pass is ideal as it basically goes from a $50 purchase to a $10-$15 monthly rental.
Very hyped for Xbox Series X and next gen!!!
Feels good to be in this thread on this forum! Glad to see a bunch of familiar faces here
I really want Xbox to purchase WB Games. I just want Xbox to come out swinging, no more mister nice guy tactics. I want Xbox to have 30 studios pumping out classics. Most of all, I know its petty but I don’t care, I want Xbox to shut up all the haters (will never happen) with a megaton mic drop moment. I want Batman to counter Spider-Man, I want Mortal Kombat to counter Street Fighter, etc. I just want xbox to catch a couple wins for a change.
i agree 100% i want Xbox to become a Juggernaut in gaming again,
Was there every any concrete information on who the acquired polish studio was?
Hey everyone. Good to see so many recognizable folks from the old OT here continuing where things left off here.
The OT looks great as usual.
I was, Super Havoc on that site as it’s my GT but you’ll possibly see me under this name here and on Twitter.
Loving everything I’m seeing so far.
Xbox has been doing really great on the PC end, is doing awesome stuff with XCloud, gamepass, free Halo mp, etc. all great stuff. But they still haven’t had their Holy S*** moment. Live Gold going away would be huge, price being lower than PS5 would be huge too but it’s still not the OMGGGG moment I’m dying for. WB Games would be that, it would double the studios that they currently have and the thought of that is just insane.
I’m trying my best to will the WB Games acquisition into reality. It would be a monumental get.
You and me both lol
Honestly though, the more studios the better. After seeing all the backlash from the Xbox community over the Spider-Man thing and how this might be the new trend, platform exclusive content…
Honestly, i think the smaller WB Games studious could be crucial as well. I can see some of these studios being converted into support studios for the main Xbox studios.
Looking at how 343 is struggling with completing Halo Infinite, I now see the importance of having support studios on hand, to help with the development of major franchises.
I know the possible Tik-Tok deal would kill Microsoft’s pursuit of WB Games but I still hope they somehow find a way to pull it off. What are the chances Microsoft pulls off both deals? What is the latest on Microsoft making a bid on WB Games?
I’m not actually sure about that Microsoft has 130 billion in cash and 60 billion in debt. Budget in corporations are usually separated by what the branch is while they do move money up and down it may have little impact on acquisitions.
