On a Console you’re not are constrained at all. That’s why USB A is no issue, but more like a benefit. Just like PCs still have USB A
That’s different for other form factors and those use USB Type C

If there’s one thing I wish MS did finally change or support I guess is simply Bluetooth headphones. It frustrated me so much with Xbox One how many quality Bluetooth headphones existed but just didn’t work on Xbox One, at least not fully wireless. I was hoping so much XSX would simply allow me to now finally use any kind of BT headset/headphones but it doesn’t seem that way.
Do we know roughly what time of the day preorders are likely to go live for the consoles?
Just confirmed on Twitter its 8am for us in UK!
I want that thing. Even more so than an X I gotta admit. But my wife told me nono once she discovered that this has no disc drive. I like to sell most games I’m a bit iffy on so she told me to get the X so that I can still sell stuff I just play once.
When will preorders go live in the US? I know the 22nd buy what time? Thanks all!
Do y’all think they will let me preorder a x and a s?
I think it depends on the retailers. So no idea.
So the Xbox Series X may be the heaviest Xbox console ever while the Series S may be the lightest Xbox console ever. Crazy.
Series X: 9.8 lb (~ 4.44 kg)
OG Xbox: 8.5 lb (3.86 kg)
Xbox One X: 8.4 lb (3.8 kg)
2005 Xbox 360: 7.7 lb (3.5 kg) (external power brick)
2013 Xbox One: 7.1 lb (3.2 kg) (external power brick) Xbox 360S: 6.4 lb (2.9 kg) (external power brick)
Xbox One S: 6.4 lb (2.9 kg)
Xbox 360E: 6.3 lb (2.9 kg) (external power brick)
Xbox One S all-digital: 5.4 lbs. (2.45kg)
Series S: 4.25 lb (~1.92 kg)
Obviously weight doesn’t matter to us compared to dimensions as it’s not portable devices (companies may be more interested however as big and heavy packages can increase shipping costs) but the difference (outside of the disc drive) is still a crazy achievement from the engineering team as both consoles will run the same games.
Series S is ~40% of the size and ~43% of the weight of the XSX.
I think it’s a side effect of needing to prove to PC gamers that they were serious about the platform in a way they hadn’t been in years.
11am EST in Canada, correct?
2am est in Canada think its a 6 hour difference
hmmmm No MS is the publisher, Gears Tactics is pretty much XCOM Gears Edition they could have used XCOM CONSOLE controller Layout.
As For MFS 2020, the game support controller out of the gate.
They have a balancing problem with console and pc gaming at the moment. I can understand why Flight Sim was pc only at the beginning but Gears Tactics makes no sense. They also can port AoE on console as well.
But a bigger problem than pc/console is the marketing on different countries. I know they love the US & UK market the most but I don’t think it would hurt to invest in more countries. All I see is Taco Bell and Monsters NRG promotion for the US market.
Im ok with PC first for some games, but they should come soon after to console. The synergy should go both ways, not separate the platforms too much.
As for the marketing, yeah way too much US/UK-focus. Especially silly in the globalized world we live in now. We see all the promotions, freebies, contests etc. that we can’t take part in you know…
how many years we have been criticizing MS marketing ? lol they won’t listen and they will not change, they rely on influencers for advertising and influencers are double edged sword for Xbox
I sure hope preorders don’t go up at 3AM Eastern in the states.
I generally agree. Short term, I get it because PC is very important to the long term strategy and will impact console library in a positive way eventually. They needed to prove something to PC crowd that games weren’t being held back by console. It worked. They’re selling a lot on Steam. Now that they’ve made the point, I want to see every PC game day and date on console. Even keyboard/mouse only games like Age of Empires. If they had games that required Kinect in the past, I see no reason they can’t have k/m only games.
Long term, I do see the platforms converging more.
I wouldn’t mind, eliminates the weak.
Means I get mine!
