Absolutely love Chained Echoes a bit over 5 hours in. It evokes all the best nostalgia feelings about SNES RPGs but it notably more modern when it comes to comfort functions like save spots, movement speed or post-battle auto healing. It’s quite strategic, too.

It’s one of the best RPGs ever imo. It’s a damn shame it didn’t get any VGAs recognition because game was legit one of the best I’ve played since Persona 5

I think basically anything that hits Game Pass is, though maybe there are some exceptions.

I think they put it play anywhere once it hit gamepass.
As most games that have been on Xbox prior to the gamepass deal seem to be doing this a lot lately.
My guess is it’s a ask from Microsoft as part of the gamepass deal

It’s not Play Anywhere as in Buy-Once-Play-Xbox-and-PC. It’s added to both Gamepass Console and Gamepass PC and has cross-features, but it doesn’t make it Play Anywhere, sadly.
Also, MS likes to put both versions into GP when it’s available on both platforms. There was also a bug where having a Play Anywhere game in one sub worked on other platform.

It’s great to see that so many people love Chained Echoes. It’s fantastic and everyone who likes JRPGs should play it.

It’s odd as it isn’t saying play anywhere but ever feature they mention from cross save, cross purchase, cross play are basically what play anywhere is
Indeed, I double checked and it shows up as owned on PC. Maybe Play Anywhere tag isn’t added automatically in the store? I’ve checked the UWP games I worked on and they’re marked as Play Anywhere.
There‘s definitely some very nostalgia-inspired indie games coming out of Germany in recent years. Signalis, CrossCode and Chained Echoes are all very different games but they really take you back into that nostalgic mood. I learn game development myself and it‘s inspiring to see that Chained Echoes was possible to be made by one person.
