You can literally keep playing in the same save file across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and an Android Phone.

wish my install will go faster, but it seems xbox installs games slow if you’re playing or have a game on quick resume. It would be a neat feature if you can play on the cloud while a game is installing

Having a game open dramatically reduces the download speed. Having a game on quick resume, though, does not.

What I normally do is open a game I won’t play just to put the game I was playing on Quick Resume, then I close the game I just opened. This way the download can go at full speed while I can resume playing from where I left later on.

On the Insider Builds there are some warnings above the queue that inform when the download speed is being affected by something, like an open game – which is a great feature!

This is pretty much how every game should function.

Just like Netflix, I want to pick up where I left off regardless of the device.

Definitely. Loaded up Minecraft Dungeons on the console for the first time after playing on PC. Was surprised to see it wasn’t Play Anywhere.

Before anyone jumps on it, ā€œlater this yearā€ simply means after today, but I’m sure the translation and reactions because it’s Microsoft will be ā€œLate this Year, like December 31stā€.

Curious what everyone’s top 3 gamepass games are? More specifically games you played because they’re on gamepass and that you may not have played otherwise.

My top 3:

1): Yakuza 0:

Anyone who’s familiar with me on XboxERA knows how obsessed i am with this series and thanks to gamepass i was finally able to try it for the first time. Yakuza 0 blew me away and has reignited my interest in games during a time when i was starting to feel burnt out.

2): Dead Cells

If i hear ā€œRouge Likeā€ then i automatically zone out and lose interest. It’s always been a big hole in my gaming knowledge because of how i perceived the genre to be. I had no interest in putting in 30-40 minutes and then losing all progress. Dead Cells excels in it’s fast pace and addicting combat and left me wanting just ā€œ1 more runā€ when it was 3 in the morning. The fact that you get stronger every run and slowly but surely get through levels faster really help push me to make it to the end and I’m glad i did.

3) Dragon Quest XI:

I’ve never played a Dragon Quest game and i typically don’t play many JRPG’s as many of them are unappealing to me. Dragon Quest is one of the most beautiful and charming games I’ve ever played. I had covid when i was playing through it and was feeling pretty bad but the game was so charming and uplifting that I couldn’t help but smile every time I played it.

Now this is a story someone like Jason Schreier should investigate. How the pulled that one day before launch and delayed it infinitely

Good question. Yakuza 0 or Dragon Quest 11 are good candidates but i have to go with Unavowed (one of the best games of the last 10 years), Gardens Between and Yokus Island Express. Game Pass for me is about discovering more niche or AA games like these or the Call of the Sea and Mediums of the gaming world.

For me

  1. Slay the spire
  2. Yakuza 0
  3. Underminer

I most likely wouldn’t have played any of those games without game pass
