Xbox Game Pass |OT| Our Backlogs Are Doomed

Well since Quantum break is owned and published by Microsoft… everything?

Ah fuck, I hope not man. So far the Halo games, Gears games have all stayed on the service.

QB does have license things though, i guess it could be the reason. But without any clarification we’re just back at the guessing game. As much as it sucked to see FM7 go, it made sense. But did they ever clarify that themselves?

Either there is a mistake or it could be some unknown licensing issues.

Also, I would say your concerns are a tad bit exaggerated.

Sure, it can be a mistake. Those have happened in the past too, so let’s hope for that.

My “concerns” are quite valid though, as licensing is incredibly vague in this case and no one seems to know why this is going.

I’m concerned because first party games always staying on the service is a pillar of Game Pass and I don’t want that to always have an asterisk.

Yeah, hopefuly the issue is resolved wrt Quantun Break.

But as for other first party titles, I cannot think of many examples other than older Forza titles.

We Happy Few and Outer Worlds were exceptions due to publishing rights.

I am curious if we’ll see the game delisted from the store as well

Sorry but it’s a terrible precedent of Microsoft first party titles leaving GamePass. These are the games I feel “safe” buying DLC for as the game is presumably never leaving but looks like it’s not the case.

I was going to buy DLC for Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3 but why would I now ? These are examples of games that may leave ! Like We Happy Few did.

Microsoft needs to put out a statement or something about this, don’t defend them

I still buy DLC for games even if they are going to come off. You planning to come back to those games and play the DLC again in 5 years? I’m just trying to get my temporary entertainment, like going to the movies.

Outer Worlds 1 is not published by MS just like We Happy Few. So, the concerns are not quite warranted imo.

You never know !

Every time someone complains about Xbox not having enough licensed games, just think about them disappearing from Game Pass lol

I disagree it is exaggerated. So far, I only remember Forza leaving due to licensing and We Happy Few, which wasn’t published by XGS. I hope journalists ask Xbox to explain what happened with Quantum Break and why this is an exception, if it is.

Everspace 2? I assume pc only? I don’t recall a Game Preview version of that for Xbox at all. This likely isn’t all for this month either. I doubt we won’t get any new additions until the 12th. MS could have some unexpected titles and this account can’t know.

The situation with Quantum Break is certainly strange and confusing: the game is about to leave Game Pass in its Xbox version, but the PC version has never been present on the service. So I guess it’s about the licensing between actors and music used.

Quantum Break always was an exception when being included in Xbox services. It wasn’t released as a Play Anywhere title, for example.

also it doesn’t have a xcloud integration and will never have

When does the leaving soon discount usually kick in?

Wonder if Party Animals comes out this month and then onto GP as well. It seems like it should be soon now.

Game Pass discounts apply when they are added to the service not when they are about to leave.
