Xbox Game Pass |OT| Our Backlogs Are Doomed

Aight, sounds like something I’ll enjoy. Should be able to fit it into the schedule.

This will last me 2 months

I’ve started on Plague Tale Requiem, I’m still pretty early in the game but the environments are quite visually nice so far, and it feels pretty smooth despite being 30fps.

The environments are also quite wide and vast and detailed despite the linearity of the game. Could possibly explain why game is demanding and only on new-gen.

Thats Disney for you.

Holy shit A Plague Tale looks good! Insane for a AA production really and I’m just 1 hour in.

Really happy with Game Pass these last 2 months. Deathloop, Grounded, Scorn and A Plague Tale Requiem are keeping more than busy.

In Plague Tale Req, is there a way to show where one needs to go? Often, there’s a task such as “go to herbalist’s forest” and it’s in a wide area and with all the rats and similar buildings, it’s hard to see where I’m trying to get to. Like some sort of beacon or something?

Not that I’m aware of, but it usually prompts you to look beforehand. For example with the herbalists door it prompts you to press your stick when they walk through the door, which automatically directs the camera towards it.

The best clues are probably the unlit braziers and torches. They usually point you in the right direction. You also need to keep an eye out for windows to hop through, doors that can be opened, cracks to squeeze through, etc.

I’m six chapters in at this point and I’ve only gotten “stuck” briefly twice - and both times there was something fairly obvious that I had missed like a ladder.

Update: It seems it did! But I also experienced a freeze for the first time, so… mixed bag. This will help a lot, but it is irritating that we don’t warrant a mention even in patch notes.

Only modern consoles get patch notes.

You’re right, what was I thinking?! They have both modern consoles listed there, Switch and PS4!

Seriously though, screw Capcom for that one.

If you haven’t already, turn off motion blur. It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes.

I have, night and day difference. I also turned off chromatic abboration and think it makes it better looking as well

A plagues tale requim is a gorgeous game. Absolutely stunning landscapes.

I am running it on a 3070 laptop and its on High and medium settings at 1600p and with dlss on performance mode and not hitting constant 60 fps. My biggest gripe is its very noticable when I turn the camera and its even worse when I turn the motion blur off

I ended up getting way more into Forgotten City than I was expecting, it’s a really neat narratively driven game. It’s also pretty short, I’d definitely recommend people check it out before it leaves game pass shortly.

The only thing making me hesitant to find time for it in my gaming schedule before it leaves is the timeloop aspect, I kinda hate that mechanic…

I have basically transitioned to a 30-fps hater at this point as a gamer, but I was willing to try this on my Series X last night because it is a slower moving game in general. It holds up really great honestly even at 30 fps, and my goodness the graphics on this one are absolutely insane! The graphics are some of the best that I have seen on a game in the environment in particular.

Finished DEATHLOOP.

10/10 game. Loved the atmosphere (Skyfall vibes), so many secrets and Invasion was the highlight of the game. Arkane’s an incredible studio.

And the soundtrack is just so good. It fits the game so well.

Only downsides would be a heavy tutorial and the ending which leaves more questions than answers.
