Xbox Game Pass |OT| Our Backlogs Are Doomed

Yeah the combat isn’t terrible, but it also isn’t very great, it’s there, it does its thing but can’t say I enjoy it super much. Had that same kind of feeling with Witcher 3 combat, heh. But I adore that game, haha.

Yeah EA has been great for sure with indies. We’ve had Unravel, we’ve had A way Out, It takes Two and now Lost in Random. Really nice.

Maybe you can help me with this here.

During combat I see a 3 in that reddish circle and I can’t use the card. Does this mean I actually need to buy this card three times? Also, what is the number 1 meant to be here? On the bottom of the cards.

EDIT

I think I know what it is. It depends on what number Dicey lands, and also I can’t roll 3 yet. That has to be it

Played about 2.5 hours of Research and Destroy in couch co-op tonight. It was great fun. The game is much deeper than I expected - with research trees, a strategic over map, etc.

One tip: You can’t start co-op until you play through several tutorial missions solo. Once you have finished those your co-op partner can dive right into your campaign (continuing from the tutorial).

That will be bad for PS Premium.

That aside, sounds fun. I should try it out.

Was this a shadow drop? It came at a good time since the hype is high on the playoff.

It seems like it came out of nowhere. But it is funny because yesterday I was in the MS rewards app on my xbox and they added two NBA2K22 punch cards in the top section…and I was like…that is odd…that game is months old at this point…so I actually went and checked game pass to see if it was there. It wasnt, so I was like…well, Im certainly not buying it for 250 points.

And today…here we are.

Lost in Random is longer than I expected, still busy with it. It has some parts i didn’t always like, like right after a boss fight I get more enemies to fight while i definitely could have done with some slower paced parts there. Also some of the fights take place in rather small areas and they throw a bit too many enemies at you, can be annoying.

But for the most part I’m really enjoying it. Even in some ways reminds me of Psychonauts too. There are some really cool stories in this game. Definitely looking forward to see what they do next.

I’m just a few hours into it, but I am enjoying it so far. It definitely has a bizarro Alice in Wonderland kind of vibe to it.

So is Bugsnax actually a good game?

I like everything about it except the combat. It feels so clunky and slow. I think the game would’ve been best if it was a little more like Psychonauts 2 in terms of combat and focused on the world building, Story telling, and exploration.

It’s so cool how detailed this game is. One time I had choked a guy and he passed out. Carried him to an area where he wouldn’t be found (which was right next to a bog), sat him down and he kinda rolled into some water and a few seconds later he drowned. I didn’t mean to kill him but I thought it was cool.

It’s not the official list yet, but these are coming this month. I am hoping for at least one older AAA myself. I expect the official list will have more for the first and/or second half. But if not, the majority once again is indie.

I do wonder if the reason why we don’t get older AAA is due to Sony’s service where they are trying to lock down more older games (while Microsoft mainly aiming at new ones).

It’s certainly very strange. In the past years we’ve had some really good older AAA games and also more often and that seems to have slowed down unfortunately. Some of these games are as old as two years or maybe even more, certainly can’t be crazy expensive to make a deal for those you’d think. It could be what you’re saying.

I think Microsoft came to the - right - conclusion is that new games bring people to the service rather than the old games.
