Xbox Game Pass |OT| Our Backlogs Are Doomed

The issue I think I have is how dismissive people are about a lot of excellent games that simply aren’t to their taste, so they call it “low effort” or “bad month!” Which is ludicrous.

Actually that is the reason why people subscribe for new stuff rather than for a big backlog - people want new stuff to be added all the time, despite having a backlog of games they did not play.

I think they could do a bit better job with spreading stuff out. All 3 Hitman games launched in January. Iirc the Kingdom Hearts and Yakuza games also launched all on the same month.

For me, I’m a big fan of puzzle games and The Pedestrian, Tunic, Norco and Chinatown Detective Agency in the last couple months were very cool and surprising highlights.

I should add that I don’t think this years been bad. Just that it hasn’t hit my personal tastes like 2020-2021 did. I used to be overwhelmed with so many great Gamepass titles, this year (so far) has been a little less to my tastes but theres still a lot of good stuff being added. I’m not one of those people who thinks Elden Ring or Dying light 2 should have been day 1 gamepass games.

It’s just a matter of context and I tend to react quickly to think it’s all bad, so I apologize for overthinking. Basically, it’s all down to preference.

Yeah, it’s rough how if there isn’t a popular AAA(globally) game or the games that are released aren’t the type of games that someone goes for, then it’s a “weak” month.

It’s all relative though and I think most of us are normal enough to be able to discuss things without always being so polarized. It doesn’t have to be a choice between “Everything is awesome!” or “Doom n Gloom” all the time.

I didn’t know Norco’s rating is really high and it’s on Game Pass. In the end, it boils down to your preference.

Unfortunately, it seems like it is for a lot of folks.

If ER didn’t exist, I’d be using it and playing way more on it. Like trying to finish Scarlet Nexus…which for some reason I own but can’t find my disc lol

Ubisoft’s Vault being in Game Pass Ultimate or not, im still hoping for a separate subscription option for Ubisoft+ that includes day one releases like on PC which is what the Ubisoft press releases said back in January.

Same here… Just want to purchase the current Ubisoft+ of PC on Xbox

This should definitely boost gamepass sub levels. There are over 46m PC gamers in Indonesia alone. Just getting a fraction of that pool will really boost subscriber levels.

If you see people who consistently call every Game Pass drop trash because it doesn’t have a day 1 AAA release, just ignore them. The forum function, I mean. No point in continuing to read bad posts.

I have a good buddy who’s almost entirely PC. I feel a bit guilty because, ever since I got GP, I keep speaking well of some games and he buys them on Steam. He must have spent so much money :slightly_frowning_face:

He usually enjoys them though, and it’s nice discussing the same game :slightly_smiling_face:

This is great, I hope the regional pricing is good. Incidentally, has Game Pass on PC improved enough? I remember hearing it wasn’t good, then it improved, then I lost track.

There’s a lot of good stuff in there but there’s work to do.

Xbox in a nutshell, really! Hope they manage to crack it. For all that “democratizing gaming” makes me want to roll my eyes, it would be genuinely great to have more games accessible to people

Lost in Random is worth it.

Very nice atmosphere, reminds me a little of Tim Burton but also Alice Madness Returns here and there. I like how EA keeps giving these projects a chance, I hope they remain doing so.

EA’s indie support has been absolutely superb, particularly from what I’ve heard from people who know about the internal specifics. They don’t get enough credit for this stuff. I need to put a bit more time into Lost in Random - so far I am loving the setting but a little less enthused about the combat.
