And on top of that come rumors that Obsidian might have moved to UE5, which i guess makes it understandable that they can’t show it, dunno though. When Obsidian said what they said last year…that builds up expectations for us and then…nothing. No word at all anymore, it’s just disappointing.
That’s the most fascinating there - while internet communities was tearing itself apart over the show (an Hoeg lambasted the show immensively) it was popular and highly rated show among the regular folks.

What did Hoeg Law have to criticise about the show?
Thing is, if games are not announced until they are 6-12 months away from release, every single game will leak beforehand. There will be no surprises at all.
However, I think it’s true that people will gravitate to the opinions that they favour. You look at the comments for that video, and the majority of commentators reacted negatively to the Xbox Showcase. Look at another video though, and the difference is like night and day. You’ll think you’re in the majority, when all that is happening is that you’re in a like-minded community.
I think more farther out announcements will be shifted to other events such as the game awards to potentially draw people in that are not in the xbox ecosystem yet. or they might be planning another event for that at a different time of the year. That could help with setting expectations for the future
Yeah, with 4-5 years of dev time before the announcement… that is what? 3 cycles of Microsoft contract mercs? If we thought it was a leaky ship now… haha.
I was watching with a few friends and nobody knew who he was when kojima was on screen. It’s the thing most that go to forums or listen to gaming podcasts forget.
I will say yesterday after the show a coworker in a meeting was talking about signing up to gamepass for the riot stuff
