How can anything be confirmed when they still have to finalise trailers and announcements.

Sure they might set a limit but cmon now.

Yeah, I agree. There is no reason to have third party announcements in the extended showcase. I remember there was some co-op indie game and interview with the dev and the game turned out to be … not that great while wasting a lot of time in the extended showcase. Keep extended showcase for some new gameplay of the games, announced in the main showcase.

I hope for some genuine current gen footage. I’m a little tired from crossgen stuff.

I mean, you are guaranteed to get with Starfield and probably Redfall as well. Whether those two games meet your expectations is another question.

BGS stopped pushing tech after Oblivion. Their strength lies elsewhere. But I hope at least they modernised their animation work.

They’ve already talked about how Fallout 4 to Starfield is their largest tech jump ever, or at least since Morrowind to Oblivion. So whether or not Starfield lives up to your expectations visually, it is definitely still a significant tech jump.

Need to obviously see more of it but what they released last year looked a massive jump from Fallout 4. The model quality in particular looked very nice and detailed.

If we are to believe Todd Howard, a few years ago he told Ted Price from Insomniac how they have a brand new animation to be implemented in their next game after Fallout 76. Starfield will have that brand new animation system and I can’t wait to see it in action.

As for a possible extended showcase, did they confirm it immediately alongside the normal show last year or did they announce it a little later?

If I recall correctly, they waited until after the main showcase had aired and then announced Extended for a couple of days later.

Someone says something and ya’ll stop believing what ya’ll seen with your own eyes.

And Bethesda never stop “pushing tech”. They’ve constantly, massively improved on the gamebryo/creation engine lol. Compare Fallout 4 to FO3/FONV/Skyrim to see the huge difference between models, animations, lighting, etc.

Please try Oblivion again after playing Skyrim. And then say this straight to the face of a NPC

We saw Hellblade 2 in December. Next gen only.

Yea

Morrowind to Oblivion was a huge jump, same for other games like the first Gears, going from ps2 to playing Gears on my brothers 360 was insane

but tust because the jump between the rest of BGS games havnt been as big doesn’t mean there hasnt been big improvements like the one you mentioned

Please tell me what your definition of tech is

We will be able to climb ladders. It is already a bigger … climb … than Morrowind to Oblivion :joy:

The jump from PS360 to XB1/PS4 itself wasn’t as big tbh.

I really liked the jump from Skyrim to Fallout 4 as well in certain areas, like the lighting and water and stuff like that. I think the characters looked a lot better too, but is not the jump from Morrowind to Oblivion.

So with that in mind I think Starfield is going to look great.

Sadly Todd quickly came back to that once he saw the comments about it. It seems we won’t be able.

He said that we will be to climb the ladders. He just mentioned that we won’t be able to control the climb - like we do in first person games where we can go up and down.
