Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase announced for Sunday June 12 at 10 a.m. PT + Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 14th at 10am PT (Spoiler Free)

Extended showcase was already a thing last year so I think it’s to be expected this year too

I hope they will be more exciting this year.

Imagine they show a trailer of Avowed, just to name one, and then have Obsidian talk about the game some more in extended show the next day.

But they haven’t confirmed one yet, have they?

For me it wasn’t all that interesting because of the games last year, but assuming we get significant updates on games announced last year and even 2020…that extended show could be really strong.

Yeah, last year it was not that exciting as we did not see much cool gameplay there. Scarlett Nexus deep dive was interesting though.

But this year we could get deep dives on Contraband, Avowed, Forza Motorsport at least. They can also move there the updates for GaaS games and DLCs. And Microsoft would not need to fill the show with fillers.

But imagine this main E3 with all of it

  • Starfield
  • Redfall
  • Contraband
  • Avowed
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Halo BR
  • Indiana Jones
  • Persona & FF7R Game Pass
  • Fable

on E3 :fire:

The transparency. Love it. Anyway, we’ll have to wait and see.

Just tell us how many minutes Starfield will have and we will make our own estimations :joy:

Pretty much what I said. They have not given a time because they are still locking down things, but it will probably be around 90 mins.

This, im liking Greenberg more and more lately :stuck_out_tongue:

About the time, very curious that there’s no time set 1 month before the showcase, when it’s also announced already, it has to mean they have a good chunk of stuff to choose from?

I expect 1:30 hours of course, but a long 1:30 hours, last showcase lasted 85-86 mins, maybe this one will go to 95 min, enough, i just hope the new content from released games don’t eat too much time, it’d be great if some of these could go to the summer game fest show.

It is possible to go a little over 90 minutes. It seems like they got the games lineup, just need presentation formatted.

90 minutes sounds great to me, I know that some people will strongly disagree, but that makes it more likely to me that Starfield isn’t going to take up 1/3 of the time at 30 minutes. Yes it’s the star of the show but it doesn’t need to have more than 15 minutes, 20 tops in a 90 minute show.

If what is there is high quality, then leave folks wanting more and very eager watch follow up presentations instead of feeling that it went on a bit too long.

Aaron already setting expectations, my man!

I want 103 minutes, just for that “one more thing”.

I think there will be overall fewer games than last year, but more significant and big games and lengthier trailers and gameplay showcases.

Those who watch when the event is happening are not normal consumers, they’re the hardcore that want to watch it as it’s happening. Normal consumers catch up later on.

We’ll see what happens. I’m staying with and hoping it’s two hours.

I’d be satisfied with 4h.

I think the show should go as long as it wants to as long as there is good pacing. And if people don’t want to watch a showcase over 90 minutes there’s always individual gameplay trailers that go up on the Xbox website that people can watch rather than watching the entire showcase.

Exactly I don’t know any normal consumers flipping over and watching any 90 minutes show to begin with.

And with them not sure on the timeframe sounds like some stuff is still being finalized

90 mins is fine

I hope we get post show trailers and dev interviews. I dont want a 1 event and done kind of thing. Would love to have even post announcements from other third parties as well.

90 minutes may be fine but 2 hours is great. What I don’t want is a shitty pre-show with non-Xbox fans trying to pretend that they’re interested.

I’m expecting an extended showcase the next day (Monday June 13th) which will have developer interviews and whatnot. Outside of Howard with Starfield, I don’t really want to hear developers go on and on. Just show me the games with gameplay. Now, if there’s a narrator that gives you some details while the gameplay trailer is being shown, that’s fine because it doesn’t waste any extra time.

I’m not a fan of having third parties reveal their games on the extended showcase. Extended info and whatnot, sure but reveals? No because that’s telling the publishers, well, you’re game and company isn’t good enough to be on our main showcase so we have to put you on an extended showcase that even fewer people will watch than the main showcase.
