Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase announced for Sunday June 12 at 10 a.m. PT + Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 14th at 10am PT (Spoiler Free)

I’m expecting the show to be much more like the 2019 showcase, but more gameplay and less cinematic. I expect this will be followed by another showcase with more in depth info and looks.

Wow im seeing some huge expectations, 8 new 1st/2nd party game announcements, 2 conferences because too much content, almost every 1st party developer showing up… I can see disappoinments incoming after the showcase.

I expect more and better gameplay than last year’s E3 (FH5 and Stalker 2 were top tier, Halo was good but failed to show the campaign), with Starfield, Forza, Redfall and 1-2 more.

Also 3-5 announcements with Coalition, Compulsion, Obsidian showing up almost for sure, and either one of Bethesda’s studios or XGP showing up too.

About the surprise, or the “one more thing” moment at the end i’ll go 95% for the new’s Coalition game.

And of course more content for Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Halo, Forza Horizon and maybe Flight Simulator or Age of Empires.

All that in 90 minutes is a quite safe bet, not the craziest show ever but a very very solid one.

Definitely the most important thing on this conference for me will be how the gameplay looks and which dates we get. Forza Motorsport has to be the next-gen racing beast many of us expect, and Starfield has to be the new Cyberpunk 2077 pre-release everybody talks about for the next months.

Hoping we get an X022 this year due to the amount of content that is in the pipeline. There’s going to be a lot leftover from the June show.

I can totally see MS using the extended showcase to make several deep-dives into games that will be presented on the main show. That way they can both show plenty of stuff in 90 min ( not too short, not too long ), while going more into details at the extended showcase.

If Microsoft brings a set of beloved franchises there, it can be E3 of dreams.

This isn’t confirmed

I would not take these calender entrys as confirmation! For example in the Summer Game Fest calender the Xbox event is 2 hours. I would really wait for official word, this is most likely just a placeholder otherwise they would have announced the length in the Blog post.

I don’t think It will be a 90 minutes show. suppose almost two hours assuming as true what Rand said about the 23 studios availbale to show something. Of course Phil can’t show all of them but some studios could really have more projects to show: Obsidian with Avowed, grounded; Playground with Forza8 and maybe Fable.

The fact that there was no times mentioned in the blog post would suggest they are still working on what they are going to use so while it could be 90 minutes as usual I wouldn’t be surprised if it runs a bit longer, especially with multiple gameplay reveals

Stalker 2, BF and FH5 all had quite lengthy showings and that was 90 minutes so replace those with Redfall and Starfield and they could probably do a 90 minute show and not need an extended showcase but I imagine they will have one with Parris again

Yeah MS announced this so early most likely for 3rd party partners and such to get an idea of what Xbox is thinking and give them all a deadline for trailers and such.

Job listing on Playground Games website indicates that Fable is at early stage, any chance we’ll see it at Showcase? I believe they’ve been working on it since 2018, right?

Yes but that included building the new team as well as the tools for the engine

We had someone who worked there say they spent years just working on the engine/tools for it to be able to handle new gameplay systems like the combat

Im guessing it will be a late 2024 launch so maybe a reveal at next e3 but im not expecting it this year

Yeah I expect 2023 will be the first proper footage with 2024 as release, next year for RPGs we’ll have Avowed.

Starting to wonder if 2024 isn’t optimistic if it’s indeed at early stages still.

Late 2024 feels possible but I certainly dont expect it any earlier

Recently Parris, the guy who presented the Xbox extended show in last E3, said that he expeced Fable for 2026, also there were some rumours of the development going slow due to the inexperience of the team with the RPG genre, i definitely wouldn’t expect this E3, and 50/50 for 2023’s one.

Fable, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3 or inXile’s next project, at least 2 of these won’t make it to 2024 i’d say.

I think we should stop trying to infer too much from job descriptions.

These guys are often less in the know than we are. Just go look at the recent stuff with Nate.

What we do have is someone with a good track record (Jeff Grubb) who had an official list of expected release years. Things likely change, but I’m not immediately pushing any of that 2 years out other than Everwild.

We could be having TES VI and Fable in one year, possibly. That certainly would be unexpected. 2026 I doubt, but we’ll see.

Good point about Grubb.

The thought of Fable (a game in the works since 2017) coming out at the same time as TES VI (a game that won’t get any significant manpower until 2022) just tells you how unrealistic the predictions are.

They’ve had a bunch of job listings since 2019. Wouldn’t be surprised one bit if that’s old. Looks familiar to their listings from then.

They’ve had over 100 listings constant since 2019.
