Yeah, western RPG’s are known to be janky anyway lol, even polished ones to some extent. It’s part of its charm.
Anyone think theyd announce a Ara port for Console is in the works? I still think these recent PC only XGP games are absolute nonsense.
I accept that Obsidian will never have the budget or manpower of a CDPR RPG, but I would think expecting more than what they were able to do with The Outer Worlds shouldnt be unrealistic.
As for 2024 Fantasy RPGs we have Dragon’s Dogma 2 to start the year and that game is gonna be massive I think. Capcom is on a roll these past few years.
Regardless we’ll see how the game is looking on the 18th. Really hoping they knock it out of the park after the timid response from the showing last summer.
I see 6 artifacts you’ll have to find to unlock some kind of gate
Dragons Dogma 2 is a good point, i forgot about that one. Lets see how it turns out.
Eventually, maybe. It’s a small team’s first game together. It took World’s Edge essentially rebuilding AoE2 and 4 to make them work on controller.
They haven’t even release the PC version, so I don’t think so. Maaaaybe they quickly mention that it’ll come in a later date but I’m not expecting.
Most likely:
ARA: History Untold is shaping up incredibly nicely. While the game is launching first on PC, it will doubtless eventually join the list of upcoming Xbox games as well. Civilization and other turn-based games work incredibly well with a controller, and I don’t see why ARA: History Untold would be any different.
The quote at the end is helpful as well:
“I know, as they should be, these folks are focused on getting to a great launch,” says Brian Stone, product owner at Xbox Game Studios Publishing. “But I can confirm that we have a long partnership with Oxide that extends well beyond launch and a commitment to support the game well past launch.”
“We’re focused on making a great PC game. Obviously, it’s in my mind that Ara can be great on other platforms as well,” Stone says. “When we get to that, we will do the work to make sure that wherever else it lands, that Oxide’s given the time to make sure that [with] the UI and any other adjustments that we want to make, we make sure that it’s a great experience on other endpoints.”
Avowed already looks significantly better than TOW 1.
Hardly an achievement, TOW being an Xbox One title.
I know it’s an Xbox One title. But people are acting like Avowed looks like TOW or even worse than TOW. It doesn’t.
Also, I refute the idea that TOW looks bad. They did great with the time and resources they had. They have more time and resources now, and therefore Avowed looks better.
In what universe outer worlds looks “bad”? I love games that push graphics to new levels as much as the next man, but, for me how a game plays always beats how it looks .
I ran another playthrough of AC black flag over the holidays and had just as much fun playing that as I did AC Valhalla despite the obvious differences in fidelity.
Anyone out there on socials comparing the look of two different games or saying a game is bad because of how it looks is just plain warring and should be ignored.
Lots of people hate how TOW looks. I don’t, I think it looks good, especially when you factor in the circumstances that it was made.
I know, my point was that anyone expressing that kind of opinion is not worth any of your time.
Just because they say a thing doesn’t mean that thing justifies acknowledgement as being valid.
Great lineup, it is already better than the last year one imo. I don’t expect any shadow drop because it would set the wrong expectations: if you do it twice, then people will always expect one.
Maybe this is the year when Xbox can finally consistently release 1-2 games every quarter and then never stops, considering the now huge 1st party organisation.
What are the odds for a Hellblade 2 release before the summer show? The game has been announced forever ago and it’s time.
Yeah, Surprise element this year is Indy.
I agree, maybe there is something else, but I don’t think it’s a shadowdrop. I think it may be an unannounced title, it would make sense to not pre-announce its presence before the direct.
Avowed comes out the same year as Hellblade 2 and Indiana Jones, so it’s not a problem if it’s not the most realistic game, it would be a “problem” if it was the only game Microsoft can release, but it’s not.
Bro who cares about the graphics, If the game is good it could absolutely be the biggest deal of the 3. An elite Open World RPG is always gunna be huge
