The disrespect for the original FF7 Remake developer.
Not cool man.
They would be a great pickup for XBOX.

Asura’s Wrath was a good action game and FUGA is a great RPG. CC2 would be an excellent acquisition for Xbox which is sorely lacking in Japanese content. It is likely that the studio is currently working with XGP.
Let’s hope SEGA is next to join the Xbox family. It would be a great acquisition for Xbox, and Rovio is only confirming that.
I’m seeing a lot of “I didn’t know they had a Montreal studio”. I’ll admit I didn’t either. Were they involved with Fuga or something?
Heard it was an engine/tools studio for the entirety of Cyberconnect. Can’t really confirm it though.
Well… Square took the game away from them. Don’t think that’s a good sign.
It was the 3rd branch, located in non Japanes country, most of the team members wasn’t Japanese devs, so they management encouraged the members to learn Japanese culture especially Manga & Anime so the team can produce the same flavor of games of the other two branches in Japan… well? I thing the team didn’t reach the required level in learning Japanese culture.
I feel like this will make sega even more of a target for xbox
That’s even cheaper then before, where did the other 300 million go lol.
CC2 strong.
Asura’s Wrath…
Fuga: Melodies of Steel…
.hack…
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm…
Bro, I can’t believe you’ve done this.
I have always wondered this, but couldn’t Xbox step in with CC2 Montreal closing and just take over? CC2 is obviously done with them couldn’t Phil and co make a deal with everyone there, keep the building, whatever equipment they can after returning CC2 property, and keep everything going as a new studio with Japanese roots? They wouldn’t be acquiring anything, I guess technically it would be considered opening a new studio. It should be relatively easy for a large company like Microsoft to do that. I know other companies buy out existing employees equipment and location when other places shut down.
Square continues to dig their grave with each morainic decsion i see
if they start incorporating NFTs into their console games I wonder how people will react
To be honest, I thought this was the post I thought I posted earlier.
Stop it SquareEnix!
Man I’m gunna seem so out of touch but,
Elixir : Who?
Web2/3 : Who?
Aqiuirs : Who?
I had to google them all .
Damn Square get less likeable each time they speak. I guess it’s not hip to be square.
Embracer is garbage. Too many mid level games and too many studios ms would need to lay off. They dont need fodder.
Capcom have MH SF RE and dragons dogma. To name a few that are potential 8m plus sales per game.
You know the more I think, the more I believe MS will pursue a Japanese company in the coming years (whether a publisher or a studio with recognizable IPS). After the Zenimax acquisition, Satya and Phil started making emphasis in getting IPs when talking about acquisitions and the appeal to kids which is what they got with ABK.
Now both of them are focusing in the Japanase market and have talked quite a bit about their underperformance, what they would like to do, getting recognition and other stuff there. Not saying that an acquisition in Japan will solve Xbox’s problem in Japan but following their plans I think they would like to have a big Japanese IP that will help them to get not only japanese audience to their new App but also Ips that can also attract a worldwide audience.
For example if you someone likes anime, by acquiring SEGA, MS would be able to put Persona in the App’s front to try to attract said person and with this made him/her look at the rest of the App or if a kid is fan of Sonic (here in Colombia is population as explode thanks to the movies) you just show him Sonic and that’s how he/she will get access to the app and the rest of the content there, thus converting him into a “MS gaming consumer”
Or they will just stop acquiring :v
