Yes, there is no bad acquisition. Any new acquisition is a good thing for the players.
Oh yes, it’s amazing what Ubisoft could bring to Xbox, and all for a ridiculous amount of money (less than 4 billion). If there was only one publisher left to acquire, I would definitely go to Ubisoft. This is the missing piece of the puzzle. Ubisoft would work incredibly well with Xbox and Activision.
I get it, SEGA would be my second publisher after Ubisoft, even though Capcom is bigger and I love their games, SEGA is already in the hearts of Xbox gamers and would make a lot of sense at Xbox. Ubisoft and SEGA would work well together (Ubisoft could help Team Sonic with the open world for the next game) and are the two cheapest publishers on the market. Tell Microsoft to acquire these two publishers and we can be at peace lol
Oh I know they are gone, believe me hah. It’s why I returned to this cursed thread, to vent my frustrations Three so far on my list has slipped away while MS is busy with the ABK crap.
I do think they can be saved though, CD and Eidos is probably just a matter of enough money for Embracer. They got them cheap as hell so lots of profits to be had. And as you point out, Krafton might be a target for a lot of reasons.
I genuinely hope this ninja gaiden reboot doesn’t go souls like or gets made into a bayonetta stylish combo game. I hope it returns to ninja gaiden black style.
I mean, is platinum, I dont think that sony needs to make a deal, they arent going to put it on xbox until microsoft pay for the port, just like they did with the wonderful 101
But if xbox acquire sega, then platinum is going to lose several ips they created
It depends since you can create a AAA game with 4 million if you utilize your budget. But either way Viktor Antonov is a great pickup. He helped create City 17 in Half Life 2 and Dunwall City for Dishonored.
I’m curious to see the studio’s next project which seems much more ambitious than The Ascent. I think this will be the real opportunity to judge the talent of Neon Giant.
Many seem to think that CD and Eidos will be acquired by Microsoft after ABK. I don’t particularly expect it, but it would indeed be a good thing. I think we will inevitably see studios/publishers that we like being bought by other players in the market. Hopefully Microsoft acquires its partners, but the market is so big and talented that there will always be new players and amazing new acquisitions on the table.
I think Krafton and Pearl Abyss are the best choices in Korea. Pearl Abyss is cheaper but the projects are slow to arrive. It would be a long-term bet with them, but it could pay off. Krafton is starting to expand, they are expensive but already have a good base. However, they worked with Sony on The Callisto Protocol.
Considering what happening with Disney, I wonder if the idea of EA + Disney still lives on? Bob Chapek was not interested in gaming, but Bob Iger might be.
EA wants to merge with some media company and Disney is a prime candidate. Amazon seems to be little invested in gaming and Apple seems to be not interested much either.
If Comcast were to merge with WBD in 2 years time, it will be interesting.
