Yeah I’ll believe that when the internet magically becomes optimally good for most people in the world for game streaming to be reliable.

feel like if it was just that, then the notion of announcing 4-5 different games after fucking up the one that had a announce----------release timeline of 7 years kinda ain’t it

Then why did cma bring up the streaming thing as a major thing to look at?

I dunno, nothing will hype the fanbase by announcing the return to the series that brought them there (and with a lot of entries). I don’t think CDPR needs to publicly announce this sort of thing for would be acquirers to know.

cdpr gonna look good under m$ after this acti/blizz deal gets blocked by #1 sony.

I think the notion of sweeping Cyberpunk under the rug when they only announced a new witcher game last year during the unreal engine 5 thing made sense, and probably had nothing to do with signaling acquisition stuff.

but with what they just did they single handedly have basically revealed their roadmap for the next 15 years, with a lot of hopes and dreams of “what we can be” type shit. entirely possible that it is just what you’re saying, but I also feel like something else is in play. Their roadmap is extremely witcher heavy, so I guess in a sense perhaps they still are doing that, but they also simultaneously revealed a sequel to Cyberpunk and a new IP

Because phase 1 is only about possible concerns. Phase 2 has a much higher bar, those issues actually have to likely happen instead of just a possibility. The latest newzoo report for cloud gaming has it estimated at about $6.2bn in revenue in 2025. Estimates have cloud streaming at less then 10% of gaming revenue in ten years so the future of cloud streaming as a big chunk of the overall gaming revenue is still a long way away if it ever happens.

Personally I don’t think it’s anything to do with that.

If you look at their stock history it has absolutely tanked. They were worth $11.44 Billion in September 2020 but now are only worth $2.4 Billion. Prior to releasing their roadmap they were only worth $1.7 Billion as their stocks were still falling!

I think it’s 100% to appease stockholders and rebuild customer relationships.

56k and aol online is the future! Stop bein obtuse.

There will be no acquisition of CD Projekt Red, CDPR is the most valuable company in Poland and it is protected by the Polish government

I mean, you never know

Nobody was expecting bethesda, neither someone as big as abk

And if you really believe that take 2 is the next acquisition, then anything can happen ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Man I am not sure if this belong here or if there is another place to talk about abk but if the cma or any other regulator cancel the deal then it will be more than clear that they have 0 IDEA of the gaming industry

They arent protecting the gamers, just sony from not getting those cod deals

They arent giving any solution to bobby kotick or the terrible culture at the company, and I am not saying that microsoft will end being the hero that saved abk, but still is better than leaving them continue being in such a terrible position

i am a polish american. both parents are off the boat. i cant wait to see cdpr under ms. dziękuję

I feel like the Microsoft buying CDPR stuff was always based off Matt Booty talking about wanting to build gaming hubs in countries, that aren’t traditionally, where Microsoft has invested money.

one country that was always mentioned was Poland, and I’'m fairly certain that’s where the techland and CDPR acquisition rumors came from.

I have always thought it concerned Asia mainly

Asia was one of those, but he also mentioned wanting expansion in parts of Europe they have no presence in.

Not sure if he mentioned expanding into europe specifically.

Didn’t they specifically state Africa? They already have a significant prescense in Europe IMO.

Playstation still dominates by a large amount in spain
