The major problem that I had was thr gameplay, it was so slow
I was expecting something like endslaved with mp, still I think they should ha e another chance, you dont see a ton of 3d melee combat titles this days

I suspect that GTA6 will be a platform like game. Basically GTA Online like but better.
Yeah it needed something more, but a NRS acquisition then MK VS KI would be great! Then an Xbox mascot crossover fighter.
I agree (though Microsoft itself can justify buying Netflix on its own merits), luckily inflation has decimated other publishers value so buying out Capcom, Ubisoft and CDPR look cheap in comparison to AB.
ehhh…yes and no, it definitely won’t be easy. Acquisitions are rarely easy, especially wit companies in the billion range that a public since it trends to take a lot of prep. But in terms of the legal proccess…it won’t fly under the radar but it definitely won’t be taken as seriously as it would of been because MS has pushed the limit by miles with gaming with ABK so this isn’t new ground in the industry so to speak
Microsoft could easily go for anyone in the gaming industry besides tencent tbh, external factors are what can make it harder since MS would obviously want to acquire a company for as little as possible while the company in question wants to the most money due to their legal obligation to maximise shareholder wealth along side other factors.
do you have a source for that because I am pretty sure that was just a rumour and besides ABK and EA I saw everyone rumoured…hell I even Sony rumoured at one point (also I wasn’t counting the console holders but no I didn’t see Nintendo either)
do you mean out of those 3? Because if so EA > T2 > Ubisoft. I went over them using the factors MS is apparently looking at (Longjevity, Playercount, Legacy Franchises, Content that appeals to Japan and E rated content) and scored them from 0-5 on each factor. Overrall EA scored 19.5/25, T2 scored 18/25 and Ubisoft scored 14/25, if you are curious overrall EA got 2nd, T2 got 3rd and Ubisoft got tied 6th
also note, I am going though the hell called embracer with it atm so positions could change
With ABK deal, Zynga & T2 flew under the radar. Same with Bungie deal ABK generated headlines, but everything else not so much - Zynga deal in the beginning, but ABK overshadowed it completely.
Oh no, sorry, I was referring to Jez’s rumor. I’m not putting Take Two among the takeovers that seem like the most likely (based on the information we have so far) to hit the market in 2022 (Ubisoft, EA, maybe Warner Discovery), I just wanted to point out that Microsoft was in discussions with other publishers long before the discussions with ABK. Satya said Micorsoft was “All In” in gaming in early 2021, so it’s fair to assume the talks with Take Two (or another publisher) were real. Buying Zynga could look like a way to protect against a possible acquisition, or to boost the value of the company while waiting for Microsoft to be available for acquisition (one rumor claimed that Zynga had offered to sell to Microsoft) . So I don’t know if Take Two is on the table, but what is certain is that the market will continue to consolidate and that other publishers already seem open to selling.
they still took a similar time as bethesda though if I am not mistaken
I don’t believe that rumour, T2 merger with zynga makes me doubt it since this stuf isn’t a sudden thing. It normally takes months to complete before being announced but yeah, MS definitely was and probably is talking to publishers as we speak, since this stuff takes months or sometimes even years and isn’t even close to a garenteed thing since deals can easily fall apart. The part about Zynga approaching them is possible though since it could give the shareholder more money if MS offered more sort of like how ABK approached other companies after MS talked to them
Thats interesting, wonder if people will pay more attention to gamepass id they add all the library of ea play
It will be a good acquisition but still I see a ton of benefits in every publisher(except square)
With all this new studio appearing I really hope that xbox will consider publishing one od their games to try them
they would, microsoft would get fifa/EA SPORTS FC, MADDEN and Battlefield day one which are huge for the casual markets, they could incorpirate APEX LEGENDS with xcloud and potentially even have some rewards for the game on game pass (if they make a compaign for it too that would go on game pass), they could also add the expansion packs to sims 4 onto game pass which could be big for PC and mobile too. Ontons of IP like dead space, command and conque, skate, spore, mass effect and dragon age day 1 into game pass as well. That being said EA is more of a defensive play to make sure no one else grabs them because if they do that relationship with them dies quickly
There isn’t any bad buys, every publisher has their own strengths like SE would basically bury the issues with MS and JRPGs but other companies was bigger strengths than others. When I went though this the ranking went
Nintendo > EA > T2 > Capcom > Square Enix = SEGA > Ubisoft = Konami > Bandai Namco > Koei Tecmo > PlayStation > WB Games (no game rights)
I didn’t factor in embracer or WBD yet and I do have a section going over how much they would cost and other important details e.g. Konami isn’t really a gaming company anymore but I didn’t factor in additional info for this chart but Konami would be lower down.
Also since I basically clafied the one tie, I might as well go over the other one; I would class SEGA above Square Enix as sonic has much maketability worldwide and SEGA offers much more veriety in terms of genres covered. On top of that more SEGA’s IPs feel like they could grow a lot easier world wide than Square Enix e.g. I could see Yakuza growing a lot easier in the west than dragon quest
I was thinking about the potential of xcloud with free to play games after seeing the success that fortnite has got on it, thrñey could easily add halo infinite mp and overwatch 2 there, even cod warzone 2, meanwhile with dead ips I really hope they bring back mirror edge, ultima online and black
The reason why I really dont think of square as a good acquisition is because much of their games are made by external developers, meanwhile others like ubisoft make everything with their own studios, also that they dont own franchises such as dragon quest or kingdom hearts, I know microsoft wants to own popular ips for the longterm, and square just offer final fantasy, sure there is a ton of ips that could give more audience for xbox in japan such as star ocean or octopath traveler
But they arent really in the same level as the franchises from all the other third parties, and is a shame that they decided to get rid of their western developers
yeah, free to play games have a ton of potential with xcloud and I just want a new titain fall tbh ;-;
I am pretty sure Square Enix owns dragon quest, I know disney owns kingdom hearts though, but they own dragon quest granted I don’t think they are sitting as pretty as other publishers when it comes to IP granted they still have quite a bit. Also for the external developers part, that was mentioned in additional info (same with Nintendo) but I don’t see it as a massive hit because MS could just buy those studio’s without breaking a sweat most likely so it was definitely a down side but I don’t think it hurts as much as other may
agreed, I wish MS jumped on that oppitunity
It is kinda moot but DQ IP is owned by Armor Project.
I wonder if potential NRS acquisition did not work out.
…Bruh, that is an L for SE, I didn’t know that one
just looked into it a bit and the company does have had an exclusive production contract with Enix pre merger and that carried on past the meger so they would still get the IP sort of but MS wouldn’t own it. Definitely hurts how good of a purchase SE looks though…I would market like this with this new info then and factoring in some other additional info in terms of who would be best but this might chance since I will have to look into this a bit more
Nintendo > EA > T2 > Capcom > SEGA = Ubisoft > Bandai Namco = Square Enix > Koei Tecmo > Konami > PlayStation > WB Games (no game rights)
I don’t think there is any connection. They had planned to make several films from the start.
SE is essentially Final Fantasy company and its main value comes from FF mainline and FF14.
bruh fuck that then. Just partner with SE to get FF14 on xbox and xcloud at that point
Yeah, that’s would be the best but I doubt that FF14 is coming to Xbox.
Honestly not sure, I don’t see why they wouldn’t…but at the same time I don’t know why they haven’t done it already but FF14 with xcloud feels like a natrual fit
