Xbox Acquisition |OT5| Talking Exclusively About Xbox Acquisitions

Capcom have no need to sell to anyone. They are making more money then ever before

You also didn’t think Phil would buy a massive publisher after Zenimax

You really need to work on your debating skills if this is the level you resort to

IF any of the big publishers are looking to sell, MS should and would absolutely jump in on that. But as it stands now with them all doing fine or even at their highest (Capcom), I don’t see this happening anytime soon. Historically merges and acquisitions have only ever happened with the big JP publishers when they were in financial trouble. These are also almost all family owned too so that adds quite a bit of trouble. There is always the argument that MS could barge in with an undeniable offer (massive premium), but I don’t see that happening. They thought Bungie’s price was too high (and weren’t keen on multiplat) and I think Bungie would be higher priority than Japan for them (and I could see the Japanese publishers having similar stipulations for Switch releases at the very least).

For similar reasons, there is no “worry” about Sony grabbing any of them either. Doubly so with their much smaller acquisition budget.

It was a joke lol

It’s important to note that this is when Capcom was looking to sell. This is the major factor here.

I agree and Capcom just handed 5% of their company to Saudi Arabia so maybe they are looking to cash out.

I suppose time will tell my friend!

People here talk like Capcom is some sort of single entity. The truth is all corporations are tied to their investors. These investors could start to think based on how the industry is going that now is the peak of Capcom and things can only go downhill for Capcom. Remember the best time to sell is when you don’t need to sell and the worse time to sell is when you need to sell…

What relationship did xbox have with Modern Ninja Theory when they bought them? Or Inxile? Or Obsidian? Or Double Fine? Or Sony with Bungie or Nixxes for example.

This relationship thing at times is overplayed

Theyd known each other and had worked together for 20 years on and off. MS come from a PC background and so did all those devs

This is like more of a cultural thing I think. There’s like a secret society thing with the big suits over there in that country

People holding on to the Xbox 360 days. Itagaki, Team Ninja, Level 5, Mistwalker…

I mean, Xbox has also known those japanese publishers aswell for 20 years or even more, they have worked together more than inxile or double fine

On one hand I kind agree with you, by seeing every japanase publishers reports is clear that they are racking in money and are doing better than ever…

On the other one they just announced they intention to buy the BIGGEST third party publisher of the market like it was nothing and that’s one the things I wouldn’t have considered EVER, not even in my wildest dreams so… :upside_down_face:

Wait… you want this apart of the Xbox family?

I swear, it’s too on the nose man

Ah yes, the classic “gamepass fodder”

Because of this game, the topic was brought out to everywhere I stumbled upon. Weird thing is they question if it’s Xbox’s fault, like why it’s their fault and responsibility? It’s not first party. It’s the other publisher’s fault.
