I don’t know how someone could argue against actual numbers and data. I argue against licenced IP mostly from a creative and IP fatigue perspective
That’s a reasonable take. I see this fairly similar, but like the most people I do have my guilty pleasures.
The reality of the market sadly looks totally different.
I hope the games industry never reaches the point of the current movie industry in that regard.
The shitposting will continue until a Japanese studio is acquired.
I mean… we’ve gotten one already.
A New one, hopefully one that could make AAA JRPGS at best, A-Level Visual Novels/RPGs at worst.
I’m not that picky.
Or a ban is implemented, just sayin’…
studio ? more like publisher
If this was to happen MS would get another few RPG developers, with Tuque Games and Archetype Entertainment.
It would also make it known, if you want RPGs, buy a Xbox Series X or S.
bioware ex devs ? hmm this could be interesting
One thing I wonder is if MS would buy the companies that were going to be bought by Google for Stadia before they got out of first party games.
Google closed Typhoon Studios and the team reteamed up to make Raccoon Logic.
Then you had games from Shannon Studstill, Francois Pelland, Yu Suzuki and Hideo Kojima that got cancelled because of Google, so it would make sense if MS bought their studios or teamed up with them to finish what they started.
Plus there was also Harmonix who had to get bought by Epic because of what went down with Google.
So going after these developers that got snubbed by Google, would be smart and then you’d get more Japanese style games too.
Terrible for business
Are they suggesting Sony acquire Epic?
imagine paying for that article…
As a gamer, I play them.
I just don’t think MS have any interest in working with IP they dont own.
Thankfully, I didn’t pay anything.
