Tri-Ace is mid and Star Ocean is in the gutter being just a knock off Tales of, CC2 without Licensing has 1 major flop and Asura’s Wrath thats it.
Falcom owns Ys and Kiseki had been growing here in the west until they and NISA have absolutely botched everything post CS4 to localize 3 fucking VITA games over Hajimari and Kuro no Kiseki.
the average gamer doesn’t give a shit about Ys. tri-ace has been ham strung by not receiving the proper support for their latest games but they’ve made games like resonance of fate, valkyrie profile, and star ocean: the last hope. some of you really live in a bubble.
Buying Falcom doesn’t really make sense because Xbox fans would have to play 11 (growing number) 100+ hour JRPGs to understand the newest releases in their premiere series lol. Having Trails on game pass would be good and make a lot more sense (not with an acquisition btw) but that’s about it.
PS I’m playing Hajimari no Kiseki on PC literally right now as I type this. Funny coincidence this came up lol.
On PC there’s a patch floating around that puts the spreadsheet in the game text and translates all the battle stuff (items, crafts, quartz, whatnot). Figured it wasn’t worth waiting for NISA with this.
The average gamer doesn’t give a flying fuck about dimps, cc2, or eighting either. Both Dimps and cc2 utilize ip they don’t own and largely only sell because of said ip.
This is just more reason why MS should go after Sega. With buying Sega MS would have Sonic All Stars Racing, which has a real shot at rivaling Mario Kart with the backing of MS.
