then my only hope is that MS gets NR and Rocksteady from WB in that case
I think if it comes down, I think Microsoft could negotiate for individual studios/IP from certain publishers but straight up another publisher?
No way. Too much heat from now on.
Microsoft had one more “You can buy a publisher without getting some serious heat on you” left and they chose Acti-Blizz.
Not what I would have gone with personally. But I’ll get to that later.
Alright, time for that third ban
Something on the low end like Sega might still be an option.
I doubt Sega would be considered “low-end”
Remember you usually pay 2x-3x what the share prices are worth.
Well Activision was 45% more
That math kind of checks out I think with what I wrote.
I think the likelihood of another publisher may go up exponentially if we see more major movement the next couple years across the industry like we’ve already seen.
Activision-Blizzard, Zenimax, Zynga, Sumo Digital, Deep Silver, Codemasters, and Leyou aren’t independent anymore.
I do agree it will (probably) be a while though, and if anything it will (probably) be on the smaller side.
Just my ten cents though.
Isn’t 2x something 100% more? Am I bad at math?
It’s the low end for publishers
That’s why Capcom is perfect US regulators don’t know any of those IP
Man, I can’t believe we’re approaching the end of OT4,
What a wild flurkin’ ride it’s been.
All the Sony acqusitions, “Asleep at the Wheel”, @Mort willing 7 studios into existence, nearly mentally breaking @Knottian , Acti-Blizz on a Random Tuesday in January.
What an OT.
I feel like this wasn’t exclusive to this OT.
That poor, lovely bastard. lol
Yeah but this one was particularly rough.
Well, this topic should slow down now right? Right?
Until Sony buys a studio and/or publisher then we all debate if Acti-Blizz was worth it.
Lotta shit gonna happen by the time Acti-Blizz closes.
