EDIT: sorry for shitty joke

Really not a necessary or nice thing to say about anyone, joking or not. That’s not even taking into account he’s a community member here I believe.

I know a few months ago there was talks that Sony was looking at Arc Systems Works, but seeing as that didn’t happen or at least not yet I wonder if they would be a good choice for Microsoft.

If MS was to buy them, they could bring out the next Killer Instinct.

Also Beamdog might be someone to look at too and possibly they could bring out a top down RPG in either Fallout, Elder Scrolls or Shadowrun.

Even though personally I’d like to see Larian Studios make the next Shadowrun, but I’ll take any RPG studio willing to bring a new one out.

I wouldn’t say no to more RPG studios. I think RPG is Xbox’s DNA.

Larian is one of the best studios in the world. But also Xbox acquiring small and talented studio and make it AAA studio is also good idea.

yesterday i did research focusing on casey hudson and his new studio. About 6 month from announcement. Of humanoid casey has assembled 55 people already many with bioware in their history. That says to me casey has a great reputation among the people he led. I see other studios taking 2 to 3yrs to accrue employees. Look at the initiative less than 100 last i heard 80, they been several years now. The other thing is casey has a history with phil and microsoft. Casey was head of Microsoft studios and worked with holo lens, before he became gm of bioware. On his linkedh he incluedes Anthem. I believe he came in dlose to its launch. From everything i read, my words he inherited a fractured bioware with lots of issues and trying to get unity and focus back. Then he left last December, after canceling anthem. So lthis is not about why’s of bioware but casey. He say’s working on a new game, meaning its in some state of development versus former bioware mike laidlaws new studio which is on year two, we only hear we got new office another employee drip drip. Where casey doesn’t show much except he wants to come up with logo animation .lol all his employees could be working out of their homes for the time being. I think we see something in the future with xbox what it entails time only tells. Now onto mainframe industries remember them…first this the cloud based mmo project from finland…ok who are they remedy cofounder with people cdc known for project eve,etc andxan investor as well, 4 or 5 people started this. The project began in 2018 currently only according to linkedh 54, so see what i mean about casey, he only announced humanoid 6 months ago, casey is the guy to watch lol. Ok now since coincedentally xbox talking metaverse i found a vdeo from last year in which at a job fair the boss says so juch, including their target platforms xcloud, stadia, luna and tv. So money has been sparse, they said they talk to t he big players weekly.lol back to kojima a sedond maybe kojima not working on a game but a movie since he opening movie poduction studio. The cloud expert could be for mainrfame and other studios. So would Microsoft invest in a game company proposing an mmo that would run for centuries, the wording well you listen to mainframe’s presentation…Mainframe Industries - YouTube

I would say since Xbox missed and couldn’t get Bioware in their prime then the studios of former members would be the next best thing. Also didn’t one of the founders of Respawn leave and start a new studio? I would start making deals with them as well. Respawn was a big loss with the success of Titanfall especially the 2nd one, maybe not as much now since Xbox has Doom and Quake, but still… If these new projects are anywhere near the level of Mass Affect, Dragon Age, and Titanfall in scope it would be worth working out some deals first, then after a few games an acquisition.

I think there are still spots for RPGs. Especially if there was something more cinematic focused like what Bioware and Spiders make. Also have lots of room for jrpg. They could have 3 jrpg studios and I don’t think they’d be satisfied with that.

Eventually we’ll get there a return to SEGA console games that are totally awesome, pick up and play, blue skies… arcade… you name it! They are still too busy integrating, it’s like a first date. These things take time man.

We can’t buy a Xbox Series X anyway, well most of us can’t. And a new GPU is also out of the question (refuse to pay those prices). So… just pictures of Sonic and a Dog making out until then :stuck_out_tongue: . Sonicmovie GIF by Sonic The Hedgehog

Definiely see this as a route to go. On golden brick twitter page they showed off their custom xbox controller lol so yea i would think a shrewd ceo would see id gamepass as quick entry…and like with mainfrime they have some prior history with xbox. It looks to me sadly bioware future depends on dragon age…if bioware conttinues to bleed casey numbers will continue to climb…i think xbox needs these type games, i play these story driven rpgs the most, both casey and laidlaw have experience. Theres quite a few going indy, i was listenkng to an interview the guy’s at yellowbrick now he was a lead head at ubisoft. Small teams are better. If you have 1000 workers it takes way longer through the channels to make decisions, collaborate, etc, where as say 20 people things get done in a day lol. So like oblivion and inexile know they have enough experience in a small crew they dont need 1000 employees.

Booware and EA is a story for the ages. Xbox tried hard to get Bioware. That kind of thing by EA won’t happen in this day and age.

Do you know the name of the founder who left Respawn?

I have another angle for Sega which is more relevant than their nearly shared dna with xbox.

Xbox needs a strong publisher presence in Japan to make deals.Sarah is doing well. But that has to be viewed as a fresh start. A continued boots on the ground presence is required to take on S and N, on a daily basis.

A stronger publisher presence in Europe. Xgsp is doing well with a much larger mandate, and it is clearly showing with the number of projects being planned. Using Sega as a publisher in Europe does help xgsp as well.

An alternative to Sega being a sister publisher in Europe would be Sega as a proper first party publisher. Allow both Bethesda and Sega to make their own smaller acquisitions. Sega could buy Vanillaware, LizardCube, Crytek and Moon. While Beth can grab Abvalanche or Supermassive. Together they could make the European + UK studio presence much stronger.

While I continue batting for xgs to acquire ioi and remedy in some way.

I’ve always had this dream that as xbox grows their studio stable that one day XGS would split into 3 hubs.

We could have a XGS North America for the American and Canadian Studios, a XGS Europe for the European studios and a XGS Japan for the eventual Japanese studios.

Bethesda would still operate on its own. Those studios sre too well knit and close to be broken up.

Drew McCoy left and started Gravity Well according to Google. Jason West also left, but I have been unable to find any info on him starting a new studio.

Gravity Well is unique. Worth keeping an eye on.

It weird that this is the second time I’ve had to post the exact same image for the exact same comment made by someone about Phil’s appearance.
