Hopefully they add more language options to first party and publishing games for areas like Korea as well.
I mean their games used to be available on just one platform – Sega consoles.
For me, Sega joining MS is appealing because I’m a fan and I want them to get the kind of investment their IP deserves. I don’t think they’ve had that in recent generations and Sega games have kind of fallen into a second tier.
You say Zenimax was different, but a Bethesda game hadn’t been exclusive to Xbox since the OG Xbox. In the exact same generation, a whole slew of Sega games came exclusively to Xbox, sooo…
@TheSlickTony said nothing about morality of acquisitions.
Why are a bunch of you acting like he did?
*rolls the gacha roll
“we gotta buy… Colt Firearms”
That’s a good sign. Incubation means working closely together and can lead to good things.
Whelp buh bye Playtonic. 2onder who Xbox actually wants for family friendly
Something way bigger and casual I would guess.
Playtonic is niche family friendly in a sense today (compared to the N64 era).
Not Playtonic. There are better platforming companies out there.
THAT DAMN TECENT!
Minority stake doesn’t mean much in the long run as you can buy them out.
Buy 10% and get a board member seat free
Seems like a good deal for them
Also LOL to Playtonic.
Bruhs, we have Double Fine who just made a GOTY nominee and the second highest rated platformer of the year.
So we are getting Yooka-Laythree before a new Banjo-Kazooie game.
I liked Yooka-Laylee a lot but the mismanagement of the Banjo-Kazooie IP by Rare is just depressing.
Banjo is terrible and deserves to stay dead
I remember how much I wanted a NiGHTS sequel… then I got one. And then I got Balan Wonderland.
So yeah, just let Banjo rest in your memories. It’s old school game play ain’t gonna get it done in 2020+.
Imagine wanting Banjo 3 when we could have Psychonauts 3.
Or
Brutal Legend 2.
Or
Full Blown Costume Quest 3 / Reboot.
True but they won’t be making a comparable game for a LONG ASS time.
They don’t want to do a sequel. They don’t even want to do a 3D platformer on that scale. They have stated they basically want to break up their P2 team into smaller teams to focus on much smaller games.
Which is a shame as P2 is basically the only game of it’s type Xbox has in it’s stable and they’ve already lost capacity to continue the genre or even improve into better production values.
