It is not waiting for something “that will not happen”. warner is going to sell those studios because they are not going to keep them with a debt of 60 billion dollars in between … add to that that the main reason for this merger is to expand the HBO MAX catalog and that recent productions are being failures…
the real question is when? In 2022 the merger is completed so those studies would be back on the market will have to see how much they will be worth because inflation will make Warner’s debt higher
Bullshit we don’t know that Discovery-Warner is gonna sell those studios.
I’d not have Microsoft waste time hoping to be first in line at a sale that may never come and miss out on all the great oppurtunites around them because they’re focused on “bigger scale acquisitions”.
Leave the bigger fish be, go for the smaller fish.

They sold playdemic to EA…Jez had legit docs(Warner had to say no because 1 they are already on merger process and 2 isn’t good for investors that you confirm that you are getting rid of an entire division)
They need to fill their weak spots those are fighting games and E based games…Netherealm and TT are the best gets for MS

I’d rather sacrifice a hundred “Discovery-Warner” acquisitions if it meant that Microsoft wouldn’t miss out on smaller-scale opportunities that could arise.
Let Discovery-Warner acquisition die so that Neon Giant opportunity may live!
But by all means, sit around here talking about how “Netherrealm Is Coming” while Embracer snatches up Neon Giant and tell me that will be a fair trade when Netherrealm is never sold.

I’ll ask you a question: why would MS be interested in acquiring neon giant if they couldn’t help MS with killer instinct or make E games …?
I would if Microsoft would let us play Flight Sim early.

Because they could make other things that are good and real and the next big thing instead of waiting in line for the chance that Discovery-Warner gets bored and sells shit without the IP attached.
Besides there’s a ton of other studios you could pursue to make E-Rated games that’s not TT.
Like invest in PlayTonic or Playful and make them second-party.
Shit, it’s not rocket science.

In the case of killer instint that doesnt apply since most of the good fighting studios are with Sony…
Sony owns (at the time of this writing) zero fighting game studios.
They’re just being pricks and making nearly every fighting game timed/fully exclusive because like nearly every fighting game company is Japanese.

I dont get this “Microsoft NEEDS to get a fighting studio”. What they need to do is make sure the rest actually get to xbox because aside from SF exclusivity the rest dont see me like they strike deals with anyone.
Maybe this is just me and not liking fighting games talking.
