My what it probably is: someone from a third party studio or celebrity. As i can’t see many other people needing lawyers just to appear on a majors podcast.
As someone who lived a majority of his life in the U.S., I’d say the “lawyers” thing is probably just Major making a joke and that lawyers and contracts aren’t involved whatsoever.

I got a feeling Embracer Group is going to snatch them up, Amplifier Game Invest that’s owned by them already has some sort of hand with Neon Giant, going by Amplifiers logo on Neon Giants website.

I’d be shocked if Neon Giant wasn’t apart of that 150 in talks.

These rumors about another MS dragon game. Anyone have thoughts? Random theory, Coalition working on new IP. Cliffy B recently got back in the industry according to a few tweets a couple of months ago. Cliffy pitched a Dragon Evolution/Pokemon realistic game to MS a while ago but was turned down because Scalebound was happening. My crazy theory Cliffy B is working with Coalition. Good fit because they get former Gears members and new ideas going forward with new IP’s.
The other Dragon MMO game is supposedly a Xbox Game Publishing title, so it is a game developed by a third party studio. Coalition is a first party studio, so it can’t be that.

I highly doubt it’s Sony because they’ve got 0 interest in Japan market focused games. I also doubt it’s MS either though because there’s yet to actually be an XGS published game from Japan (Inevitable with Tango, but I mean third party).

Lol, as I said multiple times, insiders were too excited about acquisition before E3 and this is the result, even if they never committed to any timeframe, but nowadays a whisper is more than enough.

The whole thing was ridiculous, and sometimes still make me doubt people with decent track records.
We heard of literally zero acqusitions a few weeks before E3, then it was 1, then 3, then 5 then possibly more. Everybody goes apeshit, I get thrown out a window, and here we are nearly TWO MONTHS after E3, and the only one making acquisitions is Sony.
“These things take time!” some people say. Fair, but with the way people were acting, it sounded imminent.
Like “Microsoft is scrambling to reshoot parts of their E3 video to include them” or “Yeah pretty sure they’re announcing some”.
One of the last acquisition tweets from Jez not a few days ago said “Haven’t heard anything, just piggybacking what others have said”.
Like come the fuck on dude, you started this madness.
People ask me “Why so negative Prog? Why doubt Jez Prog?” because it’s this whole situtaion that spilled out of Jez’s discord twitter hype posts that starts this whole thing.

Then can you clarify with a tweet or something? Posting about all these acqusitions hype only for it to be Tencent or Sony really annoys people.
Like saying “Acqusitions soon!” then have it be Embracer buying a bunch of people like Gearbox doesn’t really mean anything to Xbox fans does it?

AND ANOTHER THING:
Look, I get it that MAYBE “Big Things” are happening behind the scenes, but if the moves are “MAYBE we can acquire these studios from WB” then it’s time for new moves.
Stop focusing on what you can MAYBE get in big moves, and just focus on what you can get with smaller moves.
Stop triyng to do Bethesda level acquistions and go back to 2018. Smaller studios without a lot of IP is fine. You can make new IP, just get the studios and talent.
Stop dicking around hoping that Discovery-Warner is gonna sell and focus on the smaller guys.
