He just mentions that he might be able to bring a special guest next episode if they were able to get the contract work done.

Top lawyers were mentioned as a joke, and not by him.

I don’t think it’s anything major.

And I’m sure it’s not an acquisition.

He mentioned contract work. I don’t know much about this but i don’t think that normal guests need a contract to be on a podcast.

That’s for sure, it means that at least the situation concerns a deal still not finalised. Whatever the deal is.

I serously doubt it will be much of note and certainly not acquisition news if it’s on a Major Nelson podcast and when I read the “lawyer” things, I assumed it was a joke, thats something people say all the time as a joke

I feel it’s just a youtuber. Maybe you will see Colt next week. They always need to sign contracts for that.

Considering youtubers they would have contract ready overnight IMO, and Colt wouldn’t even need that.

Maybe it’s a deal for Gamepass and if it’s signed, they invite one of the developers to the podcast.

That Alien game is releasing soon, so it could be that for example.

It’s so boring in here, I yearn for the days in which I was thrown out a window.

It’d probably going to be the Song of Iron dev. There was a post on the Xbox subreddit that the dev was not opposed to being on XGP. He said he would wait for the phone call. They probably called him up and got him on board after that interview.

This is close to what they are talking about

I wouldn’t be totally shocked if Microsoft announces an acquisition of Asobo on Tuesday. That is the Microsoft earnings call day, and it is also the launch date for Flight Simulator on console. This is just a wild guess, but it does seem that Phil Spencer wanted to move away from putting these types of things in game shows, so timing here would make some sense if Asobo has been a serious target.

On earning calls day is a never seen move, but considering the release date of both FS 2020 and The Ascent, they might do as a surprise announcement for the whole public simultaneously. But day by day it seems that Asobo is going on a Insomniac style, which could take years to be acquired, or they are pumping up their value.

They should be thinking the same thing about acid nerve. two people did that game. Imagine what they could do with even a few more staffers and no financial worry.
