Although this is true that each owns a portion Its believed Nintendo owns much more than just 1/3rd lol.
Edit: Apparently they own just 32% according to an article I just found but I remember reading it could be more. Let me do some digging.

You’re officially one of my favorites!
CHRISTINA! Show approval! And buy a studio!
Nintendo owns more than 1/3rd because they have an undisclosed amount of stakes on Creatures Inc.
Ah there it was. So they technically own more than 33%
Okay I’ll take a swing at it, here’s the 5 independent studios (no publisher owned) that I think would be comparable to the Bethesda acquisition.
CDPR, you’re getting the biggest european dev in the world. An entire part of Europe loves thier games
As much as i like CD I can’t see the Polish government allowing that. CD was literally the most valuable Polish company a year ago.
It means they would have access to the most powerful American company there is. Would lead to investment, jobs, funding etc.
No IP worth buying there for that price.
They have the Cyberpunk and The Witcher license on a rolling contract.
May even own full game rights to it, haven’t looked in a while.
MS are getting access to an entire regions worth of talent with CDPR as well.
CDPR isn’t happening. Do we need to go full cycle again because of one person?
I think MS next big acquistions will be independent devs, so along the lines of the lists that are quoted above.
Bungie. IOI. CDPR etc
So this license is fine but not the other ones
And they can just buy another studio in Poland for like 1/16th the price and poach the talent.
Licenses which are well established in the gaming spheres, sure, the others aren’t
What? Saying that Batman and some of the other licenses, which have sold millions, aren’t established in the gaming space…
I mean with WB, there is Batman, is Batman as a gaming IP bigger then The Witcher?
Nothing WB has is bigger then it or even Cyberpunk
First off, you live in this world where if X doesn’t sell as much as Y in a single go, it’s a failure or doesn’t have the same value as…. That’s not how IP valuation works, especially when you consider that in the time CDPR built Witcher 3, Rocksteady had built two games for almost half the cost (for both).
Also, fun fact, do you know which game best Witcher 3 in 2015 to become the fastest selling game that year? Arkham Knight…
But is Take-Two, Capcom & WB happening?
Rocksteady havent done anything since 2015, and they are one of WBs biggest assets. Suicide Squad has question marks around it as well, and its still years away.
