There is not only the quarterly earning call, but also the annual earning meeting very soon, which will provide their strategy for the new fiscal year ( one of the basis of the acquisition OT ).

He literally only heard about Bethesda one day before. Acquisitions are the most difficult stuff to predict for insiders. I think September to the end of this year is a good period, especially if Grubb is right and inflation hits hard next year.

Only Klobrille predicted an acquisition months before, then even Schreier knew about acquisitions only moments ahead. After Satya’s words I expect at least one acquisition every year like MS does for each its core departments.

This is the one deal that really makes no sense. You are building for the future and if that is the case, you would want to have some sort of assurance that the team you are going to be investing in is going to be there long term. This is the only way you are going to build a brand.
The comparison with The Coalition is also a bit off because The Coalition was a fully functioning studio that was making its own game. You get rid of Kojima and who leads this team? You would be looking for more creatives.
I dont get the Kojima leverage for Japan because he doesnt really seem to make games that appeal to that region at all.

Things do not align by calendar years but by Fiscal Years. It is the start of a new Fiscal Year for Microsoft and many other companies. Their years run July 1st through June 30th.

Yes its a big name and just that. Dont think getting him changes much aside from recognition.
They have been doing that since 2018(6 acquisitions in 2018, 1 in 2019 and Bethesda in 2020), I don’t see why this year would be different.
There is a reason why Klo knew about things months ahead. It’s called having first hand knowledge of something, not “through the grapevine of sources”

I believe stars and other celebrties dont need lawyers but agents for appearances, so is it a new studio head or a new xbox employee. Sometimes lawyers negotiate job contracts for new hires…
