From a business sense, I don’t know if it structurally makes sense to have a publisher within [another publisher]. It’s a complicated issue.
The thing I don’t understant is why Xbox got these little games and no one of their fighting games, which are the crown jewel of the studio, since forever ago, meh.
I dont mind the quality discussions when it applies to perceived values but at some point sides should agree to disagree and move on. That’s a simple way to keep things on point and civil. That’s all anyone should be aiming for.
I was more teasing BRiT than you guys…at least that’s what I meant to do
And I failed…utterly
I don’t know, perhaps Sony is paying or GGST is the last one of the batch, meaning that everything else will come. But yeah, it’s the weird inverse case. Or a very wrong misconception that fighting games doesn’t sell on Xbox even if DBZ for example gets into the top sellers when a sale happens, and Xbox Twitch channel regularly does Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat events.
Next time there Will be the financial call, right?
I felt like MGS5 was ahead of its curve at the time. It gets crap for not being MGS enough however it’s general gameplay and visuals were really good at that early stage of the consoles life. There was depth to the game design. It’s one of the few games of the entire generation that made open world gameplay fun. Lot of small details done well. Impressive weather effects and time of day cycles in an open world. If Kojima was able to take a lot of the top talent from that team with him, I’d be pretty excited for the long term potential of the studio.
Never played DS so won’t comment on it.
If i remember correct that game ran 60 fps?
Okay, but I feel we’re talking about different things here
Yea it was 60 on ps4/xbone, 30 on last gen
I have major issues with the game but it still might be the best playing third person open world game ever, so smooth
Yeah MGS5 looked good for a cross gen open world game at 60fps. But a lot of that was down to good cinematography and camera work. I didn’t see it much in discussions of best graphics that year. No disrespect intended to the game, but I just don’t think people at the time were generally considering it to the best looking game.
In terms of visual quality in 2015, Arkham Knight, Star Wars: Battlefront and The Order 1886 were probably the top dogs. Rise of the Tomb Raider might be a contender too. Witcher 3 I think looks worse than these games, but still good.
Agreed currently looks like they derailed the topic again.
Still holding out hope that the acquisition @Shpeshal_Nick/@Sikamikanico have hinted at for a while now (“they’ve heard Microsoft is sitting on one, just waiting to announce it” - correct me if I’m misquoting!) is Asobo Studio, and that it’ll be announced next week after MSFS launches on console, hopefully to great reviews.
Yes yes, I know they took an investment from a venture capital company a while back.
Let me have this hope.
Wasn’t that months ago?
That just means it’s going to happen any day now lol.
(I wish, I wish)
Tuesday.
What’s with the financial call stuff? Is it for them to just reaffim they plan to acquire studios?
It’s to cover Q4FY results and provide guidance for Q1FY.
They normally discuss the financial quarter which had just ended with investors/shareholders etc. I wouldn’t expect anything acquisition-related from the call itself. For instance, we may get a gamepass subscriber numbers updated at the financial call.
This and we could know if they’re going to increase their First party studios.
Do you Remember the last call in August?
