Oh ok so not an acquisition
Weird that the company with the biggest bank and has put it out there that they are aggressively pursuing studios hasn’t locked anyone down since Zeni(that we know of).
Meanwhile, Embracer and Tencent is out here making moves with less muscle. I heard the “war chest” was open but it doesn’t matter if the studio/pub doesn’t want to be acquired.
Definitely don’t believe rumors until something is announced. Half of these insiders bait tweet for engagement anyway lol.

They hired guys this year whose job it is to seek out new acquistions. This is telling that they wont be any this year due to how recent those hires were.
Remain optimistic something happens rather this month or next tho
By that logic, any and all acquisitions before those hires never could have been done.

Edit: Just read the entire thread on gamingleaksandrumours and came to the foregone conclusion that the Sony fanbase on that website has lost their mind. Who is even dumb enough to believe this kind of shit. “I once posted a video recommended by my ‘source’, and now this ‘source’ is telling me that Sony is making a brand-new AAA studio in Japan!” It’s also funny that when the OP gets called out for the stupidity of the claim that Sony will keep this studio a secret until they can showcase their new AAA game (how will they even recruit people if the studio is a secret?), his ‘source’ comes to the rescue and claims it will be revealed in the next few months. Love you Prog, but you are strangely compelled to believe every dumb Sony fanboy on the internet whilst being more sceptical than Richard Dawkins when it comes to Xbox.

What a person can say is dependant upon the source as if you just blab everything you hear you wont have sources for long.
Secondly, sometimes a deal getting talked about before its done can cause a deal to fall through.
Thirdly, with how this community is i wouldn’t say shit. because as soon as someone says anything one studio turns into seven turns into all of Europe is being acquired.
Even if it doesn’t get blown out of proportion people seem to have a very limited scope of how long a deal can take to get done so if they don’t see immediate results they assume something is wrong. Zenimax deal was years in the making. Where if you say hey Microsoft is trying to acquire studio X if that wouldn’t happen before the end of the year a lot of people would automatically assume something was wrong or the person who talked about it was lying. So why would anyone say anything until the paperwork is signed which at that point you might as well just let PR team have its moment.

I’m going to start deleting comments that are off-topic for the Xbox acquisition thread; I’ve been convinced of allowing general acquisition talk, with some limits, in the past, but won’t be for other subjects. There are plenty of other threads where some of this talk is better suited, though I would ensure console warring isn’t in it and offsite drama is kept to a non-existent minimum.
