Xbox Acquisition |OT3| 100% Organic Growth

In my opinion they are targeting popular ip’s and studios that have close relationships with microsoft.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were aiming at:

Sega–>jrpg jap, rts, sonic ip, football ip

Studio Wildcard -->the biggest and most famous dinosaur games

Tutle rock–>the biggest and most famous zombie games / support team

Crytek–>talent support team for crossfire ip

Asobo–>the best and famous flight simulator

Warner Bros–>combat games–classified and heroes games

Smilegate–>the most famous and played fps game in the world. (That’s No Moon $100 Million Investment).

Io

I don’t see them buying studios like neon gigant, ebb software or small first time teams

Already acquired by Snail from China. Also, it’s one of the worst optimized games ever.

Just because millions of people in China and Korea (because their population is huge) play(ed) CrossFire. Not so much people ever heard about this in Europe or USA.

Also, Smilegate is not just one studio. It’s a huge company with around 8 subsidiaries, like Smilegate Entertainment (CrossfireX) or Smilegate RPG (Lost Ark), and ~1,200 employees.

Microsoft already has Undead Labs for zombie games.

I’d be a huge fan of them getting Smilegate RPG. Lost Ark would be a huge console exclusive in the west.

I know Xbox had Black Desert first and has PSO2 NG, but nothing in the MMO console space compares to FFXIV.

I had same thought as u said these ones r not worth the money or being acquired

You can never have enough zombie games.

Zombie games are evergreen.

No offense but this kind of logic is extremely dumb

gotta agree with u on that one

It’s alright :slightly_smiling_face:

I just don’t think that Microsoft needs another zombie games studio.

First of all I would like to see how much of progress and leap we will see in State of Decay 3 and between new game and State of Decay 2.

Looks like it might get some much bigger narrative-driven touch (and maybe better single-player approach, hopefully) since Undead Labs already had Heartland and now this DLC will get a sequel with Homecoming.

The relationship is there, considering CrossfireX, we’ll see, but being Amazon the publisher in the west, who knows…

MS would never look at it from that perspective, they might both be “zombie” studios but they are completely different games in completely different genres, plus zombies are likely never gonna go out of style, decades later and they are still as popular as ever, plus Turtle Rock in the future might want to do something different anyway, they already tried with Evolve

I do think SoD3 has massive potential, SoD2 already seems like one of those games that NOBODY seems to talk about yet its still reached over 10 million players

A sequel with a much bigger budget and team could be massive

I wonder if Gamepass subscriptions aren’t were investors thought they would date, and that’s why we haven’t had any verbal acquisition agreements yet, plus we haven’t got a true update from Microsoft since Gamepass subscriptions were over 18 million .

As long as the other more important division at MS are fine they will never ask unless one of them specifically ask what is the latest update on on subscriber numbers but most of them don’t care so it doesn’t get reported and they probably have an internal target before they announce it again like at 30 million and again when they raise the price at 50 million subs.

Investors don’t care about Xbox. These are the people that wanted MS to spin off Xbox. The investors are more interested in Azure growth.

The lack of numbers is kinda curious. I hope growth hasn’t slowed down too much.

You guys are going off topic

I always love to bring up the fact that in the earnings call after the Bethesda purchase was confirmed, not one investor asked about Xbox full stop, never mind the purchase lol. That’s how small fry Xbox is to some investors atm, because the likes of Azure and Office is what is driving growth currently.

White suits don’t know shit about gaming, they only love the profits made from it. Anyway considering revenue surpassed $15B for the first time, I suspect even more big moves are under way.

Investors are not going to want something that is making upwards of $10 billion a year and growing sold.

They’ve never cared for Xbox even after the Kinect became the fastest selling consumer product.
