Xbox Acquisition |OT2| Something, Something, Snowball Effect

They are in competition, for customer time and money. Sony has no option other than expand, and they have been better at it than Microsoft was when they needed to partners.

The future of the industry is going to be streaming just like music, movies and TV. PS Now on PC was a test, that was followed by the release of some games on the platform. Nixxes is them telling the market that they want to have one of the best porting houses handling some of their stuff that is going to go on PC.

Sony, like Microsoft, will expand and they will do that because the competitive environment demands that the continue to expand. In time, they will similarly have a streaming service, and they will need to compete on content because consumers like to compare.

@FeiEX the stakes just got higher :eyes:

I understand your point. I’m just doubtful that an acquisition of steam would have any bearing in the way you are thinking as to many other mediums exist to buy games. Microsoft owning steam doesn’t change landscape. A much larger percentage of game sales are done elsewhere. Microsoft owning valve for instance doesn’t have any bearing on how many people buy games from IOS or google play which make billions off game sales in there storefronts. Neither does it effect gog or Epic or PlayStation.

If Microsoft buys valve and game publisher or game studio x wants to move there games to epic or gog, or create there own storefront Microsoft isn’t doing anything to stop that. Its not like they are going to Ubisoft and saying you need to put your games on steam and xbox only or else you can’t publish to the windows platform.

Microsoft doesn’t have any reason or anything they are doing which would make it an unfair advantage as there are to many other places to buy games digitally. This isn’t a windows situation where they are have so much market share they can force other competitors out by not supporting there products. Nor do the current people involved really do business that way anymore. that was a different Microsoft with different people at the helm when they are doing blatant anticompetitive moves.

PS NOW on PC is terrible and they’ve done nothing to fix or make it better in the last 3 years. If that was a test, it’s not one that Sony passed imo. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m still thinking Supergiant.

Or you could just ship them to the PlayStation insider side since they’re wrong 95% of the time. lmao.

They have a fresh Tencent investment.

I’m referring to the gameplay and storytelling one.

That’s a very big Supergiant bod imo. They’ve always tailored their stories and gameplay pretty hand-in-hand in unique ways. Especially Pyre and Hades,

not necessarily verifying the information specifically, more that it comes from a place that could possibly be in the know, as always, when something is “vetted” it comes with caveats like “this person is in a position where they could have access to such info, but the individual comments cant be verified on their own” etc etc

idk, lol, its not important anyways

no one knows about acquisitions these days now that Klobs loophole was fixed

literally no one can know, only top brass, look at Bethesda, that was huge and not 1 insider predicted that, acquisitions arent like game leaks, theyre nearly impossible to have inside info on

There’s a lot that’s wrong in this statement…

It’s an AA game but still very playable and enjoyable. I actually enjoyed the gameplay and combat. It’s similar to a souls game where you have to counter or dodge then attack. You can’t really mash buttons. If Microsoft acquired Dontnod, I hope they somehow end up getting the Vampyr IP as I would love a sequel.

My source who has never told me anything wrong said the Booty inquired about taking Naughty Dog off Sony’s hands for a billion bucks. And the paperwork has already been signed for Valve.

Vampyr is an exception and was co-developed with Saber interactive, DontNod only games are usually episodic visual novel kinda games.
