I guess the indie devs would make sense if that’s why Charla was congratulating someone. I can’t really see supergiant being one though. They have to be riding high financially right now. On the other hand Hades probably inflated their value. They put out 3 games last gen so they are pretty efficient and I’d like to see what that team is capable of with first party money. Transistor is awesome. Is there a contractual reason why it never came to Xbox?

Wasn’t there a huge issue at the start of the Xbox one generation where xbox were charging indie Devs fairly hefty amounts to do updates on Xbox? I’m sure I read or heard this was the reason there was a lot of issues with indies at one stage

Remember all that pre e3 rumors? I remember. I don’t think anything is happening next week or that Xbox is buying wb studios.

The rumors were never about the studios appearing on the show though. Many even said it was extremely unlikely that they would.

A studio that will be using the cloud to make their next game to achieve a new way of exploration in games.

Gameplay/Storytelling is their core when it comes to the games they make and they going to make something a lot of people will want to play. (this one is imminent for this week)

A creative figure has started a new studio with Independent backing and support to create a new immersive simulator

EDIT: Tubular Bells isn’t an acquisition but a partnership with one of the industry giants and a key industry figure. Xbox been funding them along the way and will be coming on day 1 to game pass and possible a timed exclusive. Think Inside

Think Inside? Maybe one of them is Jumpship, they’re the ones making Somerville and its co-founded by Dino Patti one of the co-founders of Playdead who were previously close with MS.

I’m not sure. Could be the case. I know at launch PlayStation was getting way more imdies

The pre-E3 rumours were mad. So overblown and unlikely to happen. From nowhere, between 5/7 completely unconnected studios were getting acquired. Whist they would all be great additions, there’s no chance of that selection getting bought any time soon.

I can see maybe 1 acquisition before the end of the year.

Technically, this is the beginning of the year for MS, so expecting more is actually not far fetched. July is the start of their fiscal year.

MS announces the Game Pass days on Tuesday (but this can easily be pushed)

Friday is almost always bad news day unless something happends that needs to be reported.

Look to Wednesday/Thursday for the supposed announcement this week, maybe Tuesday.

Technically they did announce MLB The Show coming to Game Pass Day 1 on a Friday I think

2. Dev talent is all I care about

3. Publisher with many Studios - take Xbox beyond 30

4. Game Gener specific - (mention the gener)

5. Studios with good relations

6. Screw up competition - Buy competition’s third party exclusive

7. **** - I don’t care - just take Xbox to 30

8. 23 is enough

It’s precisely the rumour we heard all the gang talk about on the XboxEra/two podcast pre e3. Whilst for my tastes all those bring acquired would top Bethesda, it’s not happening.

IMO they will acquire 7 studio to make number of studios to 30 before holiday and 30 million XGP sub

I think we MS will only acquire 2 mabye 3 by the end of this year but would be happy if I am wrong and they get 7 haha
