Xbox Acquisition |OT2| Something, Something, Snowball Effect

I would imagine someone in that position might follow a lot of industry people like those

Nope not in what I’m hearing. I am not hearing any other studios besides what I mentioned.

Fair enough. Crytek possibly a global publishing deal instead?

Hearing from who…? lol

Every time i see someone say what i’m hearing i just think of that one guy out of Ant Man that has that crazy montage lol

From 1 to 10 how confident are you on this information?

In all honesty, I don’t see the point in a verification process if we still have scenarios where people listening don’t like what they’re hearing or when plans change pitchforks are immediately pulled.

I remember both Dusk Golem and Nick both being lambasted for some of the stupidest things.

yeh im torn on it

on one hand it can weed out the crazies with the CAVEAT that may be this information is hit or miss

like just because someone is verified doesnt mean theyll always be right or its the mods or sites fault, people just have to use common sens e and not be jerks like the other site, forgiveness ya know lol

Honestly, letting an insider rise and fall by their own merits is how it should be.

We shouldn’t say “Oh they COULD have information, but we can’t verify the information at hand”

If somebody says “Trust me bro, Microsoft is gonna buy XYZ, and it doesn’t happen, then we should all just point, laugh and move on”.

This is the way.

Bits of a few of them. 23 is enough right now, but I want to see them keep building, studio by studio when the buy is right.

I want to see them fill gaps in genres, like fighting games, E rated, action adventure, and buy outfits that make unique games that give them something a bit special. All purchases need to come with assets – IP, technology etc. – that add something. A team that made a few good games but owns no IP is low value. You don’t own the staff when you acquire a team. They aren’t indentured servants, and the talent can leave. What you’re buying is IP and/or tech, that’s what you keep in the long term.

If the right big publisher comes up, and the only one that really makes sense to me is Sega, then go for it. But I am definitely not in the camp that thinks it’s good for the industry for platform holders to ‘screw over the competition’, take third parties off the table just for the lols, or just for a desire for them to have four times as many teams as the competition. Buy smart, take it steady, build. There’s no mad rush here.
