They probrobly don’t need to be bought out. After they left se, they could of went the bungie route and got a big financial backer. Their still not zenimax size with a healthy cash flow, ahd all tthey can be independent for many years.

Whilst I may agree with some of the takes, let’s leave the offsite drama offsite and ensure we’re not attacking individuals or making generalizations (not all Playstation fans are like the aforementioned crowd).

I think they just take the general sentiment from their fans on twitter and forums and build their public PR around that. Sony stans tried to make acquisitions a moral issue and you NEVER moralize business moves. If an opportunity comes you take it. It’s that simple. Sony put themselves in an untenable situation that’s just going to lead to people, like me, pointing out the hypocrisy.

I wandered into a thread on GAF a few days ago just for fun. The members there seem to be in some bizarre time warp where PlayStation has enjoyed all of its success of recent years, but Xbox is still in 2017. They were literally still saying “Xbox has no games”, “Playstation is so far ahead”, etc.
It was disconcerting to see the reality bending power they possess. I’m afraid some of them may have mental breakdowns over the next few years.

Interesting that they made the ports mostly for Square Enix. I wonder if Square recommended them or something.
No, and i’m speaking as only a PC Gamer from the beginning (i Always played with PC (Amiga500 and 486 the First Ones): PC gamers are not really interested to consoles for many reasons: i had have PS4 and xbox360 only for Two games: the order1866 and Halo wars but i sold them After One year because for me m&k are the perfect controll and PC offers the best graphic and performance if you have the right specs.
PC and consoles are different markets and XBOX unerstood this: PS Is going to understand.
I bought Horizon on PC an i would like to play the sequel but i’ll wait for the PC release and many other PC players (Horizon on Steam sold very well) with me.
So, this new acquisition by Sony means that more First party Will come to PC, maybe at day One.

I think today is the start of the new Fiscal Year for Microsoft [July 1 - June 30th].
There’s rumors the next acquisition(s) will be in the first half of the year. If the big one happens its near 20 Billion. The handful of others are under 10 Billion with one tiny one under 1 Billion.

I suspect that MS has some nukes in their storage that have yet to be announced. But that porting studio is interesting as it cripples Square Enix ports (though I recall Nier was ported by another company?)
I personally cannot imagine what is realistic purchase for 20 bln.
