I wouldn’t be surprised if they let Square use the port studio, square is almost a Sony company by now.
Nah, not really. I feel - just like with Atlus - there is basically a single guy (in higher ups or something) who has close relations to Sony in Square Enix. I mean if we look at games - Final Fantasy and Forsaken aside - nothing else has relation to Sony that much.
If not for those moneyhats we could safely consider Square a regular publisher with Bethesda’s problems lol
Correct, today is the start of the Fiscal Year.
A. Microsoft’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
you see it’s not an arms race
for these studios it’s like getting invited to the Undying Lands like Frodo and Bilbo
This is what is being swept under the rug with the whole PC and PlayStation situation and the price increase. Despite what the PlayStation folks tell you about PlayStation being market leader etc, Sony themselves is openly admitting that PlayStation is no longer big enough for their business model despite selling over 100 million.
I think QLOC was the studio in question.
As I said, take whatever PR-fluffed message they spin and expect the opposite at this point.
I made a similar comparison the other day… something about Pintos vs. Aston Martins…
I think it’s safe to say when all of the MS/Xbox leadership is telling you growth is coming that you can expect big things…
Hahaha. Cannot wait.
This is a Timdog level mixed metaphor
The exact point were they admitted that PlayStation is no longer enough, was when they decided throw the generations talk out of the window in favor for more sales on the PS4 for their biggest titles.
Sony got caught off guard this time around, this isn’t a walk in the park anymore. Thanks to covid, Xbox is in their neck with market share and this’ll give MS enough time to launch their bangers and catch-up (in market share) once and for all.
. I was meant to say something else and now realised. I am trying to play F76 and type at the same time.
Points for playing FO76. Love that game now
Yeah, I have just got into it and honestly feels like Fallout 5 but with added multiplayer. The community seems really friendly in it, which helps a lot.
Wait, which rumor is talking about a 20 billion dollar acquisition by MS ?
$20 billion is a really specific number. I’m struggling to think who that could even describe. Take Two’s current market cap is a shade over $20 billion, but that means an acquisition would probably be closer to $30 bill than $20. No other publicly traded firm springs to mind as being close.
Which leads me to think it is a privately held firm. Valve?
I don’t think it is Valve because MS would not invest into remaking Windows Store then.
Gonna need a source on these numbered rumors…
Can’t just go throwing around this kind of stuff randomly - it inspires a lot of wild speculation that makes the thread go crazy for a bit.
A source, please? These would be competition-eliminating buys. It is in their best interest to spend those large amounts as soon as possible, but I don’t believe it.
Valve and Sega are the ones that jump out. I suppose the entire WB Studios could go pretty high.
I don’t believe any rumours anymore. It’s clear insiders are either making stuff up and/or have really shitty sources. Either way it’s pointless to base anything off of them.
