I suspect that MS has some nukes in their storage that have yet to be announced. But that porting studio is interesting as it cripples Square Enix ports (though I recall Nier was ported by another company?)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they let Square use the port studio, square is almost a Sony company by now.

Nah, not really. I feel - just like with Atlus - there is basically a single guy (in higher ups or something) who has close relations to Sony in Square Enix. I mean if we look at games - Final Fantasy and Forsaken aside - nothing else has relation to Sony that much.

If not for those moneyhats we could safely consider Square a regular publisher with Bethesda’s problems lol

Nixxes’ almost entire catalog is porting titles to PC… why would you think that would change? More importantly, Sony’s business model is unsustainable in the long run; if the minimum $10 increase didn’t tell you that, I’m not sure what will.

This is what is being swept under the rug with the whole PC and PlayStation situation and the price increase. Despite what the PlayStation folks tell you about PlayStation being market leader etc, Sony themselves is openly admitting that PlayStation is no longer big enough for their business model despite selling over 100 million.

This is what is flying under the rug with the whole PC and PlayStation situation and the price increase. Despite what the PlayStation tells you about PlayStation being market leader etc, Sony themselves is openly admitting that PlayStation is no longer big enough for their business model despite selling over 100 million.

The exact point were they admitted that PlayStation is no longer enough, was when they decided throw the generations talk out of the window in favor for more sales on the PS4 for their biggest titles.

Sony got caught off guard this time around, this isn’t a walk in the park anymore. Thanks to covid, Xbox is in their neck with market share and this’ll give MS enough time to launch their bangers and catch-up (in market share) once and for all.

Yeah, I have just got into it and honestly feels like Fallout 5 but with added multiplayer. The community seems really friendly in it, which helps a lot.

There’s rumors the next acquisition(s) will be in the first half of the year. If the big one happens its near 20 Billion. The handful of others are under 10 Billion with one tiny one under 1 Billion.

$20 billion is a really specific number. I’m struggling to think who that could even describe. Take Two’s current market cap is a shade over $20 billion, but that means an acquisition would probably be closer to $30 bill than $20. No other publicly traded firm springs to mind as being close.

Which leads me to think it is a privately held firm. Valve?

Valve and Sega are the ones that jump out. I suppose the entire WB Studios could go pretty high.

I don’t believe any rumours anymore. It’s clear insiders are either making stuff up and/or have really shitty sources. Either way it’s pointless to base anything off of them.
