Yeah, it was a bit confusing though. He doesn’t mention those games in that interview, but he does say best or first approach or whatever. The headline was exactly like that too. That’s how the ball starts rolling.
I wasn’t aware that Tom was using that older interview as reference. I thought he knew more.
When people after the acquisition was final read “first or best on Game Pass” they immediately think of brand new games, because seriously who cares about TESO receiving updates, content and Fallout 76 too? If that’s all it is, along with Doom VR, maybe Skyrim 10th, Ghostwire and Deathloop…it’s no big deal but Tom says this about future releases too. Maybe he means a MMO with this and not TES VI or Starfield, but right now it’s unclear.
And I can’t help but wonder why Jez said “if TES VI, Fallout etc come to PS5, why not Halo, Forza etc” when he seemed so very certain just this morning. It was a tweet by him. I’ll see if I can find it again.
Jez saying that was to highlight how dumb it was to suggest that TES6 would be on Playstation, he wasnt saying that they would be or that TES6 would be on Playstation. He was basically saying that asking for Elder Scrolls is the same as asking for Halo, it’s a first party game and it’s not going to another platform
But that’s the thing with insiders sometimes and their replies consisting of only a gif or image. But this made me think dude knew more, and maybe he does, but from now on I’m gonna ease down with going all “oooooh shit, look at this.” nah.
Don’t be surprised if Microsoft once again shoots themselves in the foot and doesn’t take advantage of this situation, they need Starfield to be exclusive but don’t be surprised if it isn’t, it’s disappointing because Sony wouldn’t think twice before doing it, I just don’t understand why they’re not more aggressive.
That actually makes a lot more sense, thanks! He does believe Sony would allow Game Pass to get TES VI. Hey, who knows. I’m not sure I want to see such a future though, I’d rather just have Xbox doing everything in their power to knock it out of the fucking park!
But this doesn’t make any sense though. Especially after reading Proven’s long post here in this thread it doesn’t go together at all with that. If there is no existing contract, it should not be multiplatform at all, especially after how awkward it already is with Deathloop and Ghostwire.
Also, I keep seeing the XBLG price hike being mentioned, it’s a valid argument but as foolish as that decision was, it was to get people hooked on GP Ultimate much sooner.
It’s really tired, PS players are just so toxic. I don’t want to make console war here but Xbox just can’t have one AAA exclusive without a bunch of misinformation and fake concern. Like people try to transform Rare testing some gameplay ideas for Everwild in " Rare don’t know what is Everwild " or " Obsidian only want to make small game " 2 months before they show Avowed, a big scale AAA.
And now it’s the same, they want so much to play TES 6 on PS5 that they take only a sentence out of context to reassure theirselves or use like shitty logic that don’t make economical sense…
Microsoft is a smart company, that why they are going to put almost every Bethesda game exclusive, I’m confident.
Exactly the same. The media’s bias against Xbox never stops.
From “We are still trying some new gameplay mechanics we didn’t consider before” to “OH MY GOD THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE GAME IS FUCK YOU MICROSOFT FOR ANNOUNCING IT SO EARLY SEE Y’ALL IN 2027 LMAO”
and
From “We don’t plan on taking the games that are on other platforms out of there, we’ll take a first or better on Xbox approach to them and they’ll have Game Pass advantages” to “BETHESDA GAMES WILL NOT BE EXCLUSIVE”
i think it more like you can play on your phone or your pc but the best place to play is on an Xbox Series consoles as most of their exclusive games are built with that in my mind and gamepass too just my thoughts.
Had the Gold debacle not happened, I’d be a little more confident regarding exclusivity. It was really striking that they even tried to do that, so who knows. Even though the decision here should be obvious, I’m not so sure. The competition surely wouldn’t care about Xbox users and, in fact, they keep doing all they can to keep Xbox players away from content that’s not even theirs.
