What are your predictions for Xbox in 2022?

Yeah, Xbox simply doesn’t deserve this, their efforts outside anglosphere and maybe latin america are cheap compared to Sony.

Xbox should try to conquest Europe before Asia.

The Europeen market is twice the Asian market in real sales (not in population number but in sales lol)

And if you look the Asian market, Playstation is not selling big number, it’s only switch focus, so Xcloud should be prioritise.

It’s not only a Xbox thing, it’s a global Microsoft thing.

For exemple, I bought a lot of movies on Xbox. And now I want to watch them on Pc or on Mobile. Microsoft didn’t make an app. They say, of there is a solution “Movies Anywhere”, I was happy, then I saw it was only available for Us (and maybe Canadian), like a lot of stuff.

In the movies section again, I can’t change the language, people in Ms US, don’t understand that for the people in europe it’s a big issue. Sometime people want to used their own language, sometime wan’t to do VOST.

Local Xbox in europeen country have a very short budget of they own, and are driven by Xbox US. So when Halo came out, there are no deal with big streamer in france, they are no partnership with a drink with code for skin and bonus XP.

When Apex launch the biggest Twitch streamer where paid to play the game for a week. And it’s had a big effect on the game. I am sad Halo didn’t get this kind of attention.

that’s also what kill Mixer, they put too mutch money for a few big 'US streaming stars", instead of having a diversity of people arround the world. So Mixer was living only on the US time, and was literally an empty stop the rest of the day.

Another example, I am an Insider, I use the Hub for feedback and stuff. I now that the menu are translated by a computer not people (they ask review of the quality of auto translate every week on the hub lol). But I never new, if I should put the comment in english or in french, did the answer go to Xbox US group, or localy (hope not, because it’s a waste of time otherwise).

Europe should be the big focus, Xbox should focus on xcloud servers and gamepass for PC in Asia because that way with a low entry point and a big focus on handheld gaming, they are missing out on a large player base.

You are totally right, in fact this is the only subject where I don’t trust Phil automatically, because it’s a MS-wide issue and trust is earned, not blindly given, I also see everyday the results of real marketing and localisation efforts (Sony and Nintendo go big with that in my country, expecially Sony).

PS: you can watch movies on PC, you only need the same app available on Xbox:

i predict disappointment until June and maybe even then.

2022 will be the same as 2021

Gamepass numbers will be shared in January

First Half

dependent on Third Party Gamepass deals

(MLB - Outriders/MLB - Stalker 2)

And some other Gamepass deals.

We will hear some awesome xCloud news. Something from BC and FPS boost team ( if not the same features, something new probably)

Usual Acquisition rumor around the May followed by E3 in June, to the end the first half at a high note

Second half again like the Second half this year.

Back to back First party releases from July till December

Redfall, Motorsport, Starfield are confirmed. Third party Gamepass release of A plague Tale requium

Not sure of the Motorsports release month. Could before or after Starfield. Redfall is before Starfield

So three games next gen only. Still missing atleast one or two more first games compared to this year. Maybe a surprise reveal?

Surprise reveal all the year

Possible release of As Dusk Fall. Unexpected AAA Third party Gamepass deal.

I agree about everything, outside BC is ended and FPS Boost is on hold, official words from Xbox.

This is so relatable. It sucks being treated as second (maybe even third) class customers. They didn’t even go big for Halo here either. Meanwhile the competition is always present.

That shit with translations is hilarious, it sucks. I don’t care for it myself, but the biggest company in the world shoud be able to afford having localization available. The half assed machine translations are worse than not having any at all tbh. Shit is hilariously bad.

PlayStation has had a lot of precense without even having any games this fall, they market the brand and do it well.

To keep it on topic I’ll add that I predict the shitty marketing efforts outside of the anglosphere will continue in 2022.

That’s 99,999% sure, the fact there are only 6 languages for Xbox Wire is the ultimate answer. A better localisation and marketing effort would INSTANTLY (most people are actually unaware of Xbox offer because of lack of marketing) rise their market share in several countries, IDK why it’s so difficult to act.

Baffling. 6?

It’s such an easy thing too. Hell, they can pay me with games and I’ll do it.

Starfield has my attention, Redfall has me curious, can’t even say for certain Forza Motorsport is this year.

It’s certainly an odd year, bad year however if you mostly care about Xbox Originals for Game Pass. I’m considering replacing my television and picking up a Series X for Starfield, currently own a series S and while its an awesome console my television is starting to feel a little small.

I’ve already played Deathloop on Steam and while I loved it, an Xbox release isn’t something that’s particularly getting me excited when I look at how much game pass ultimate cost per month.

Late ports don’t excite anyone, nor move any needle, because nobody likes to be second class citizen. I hope nobody would count Deathloop as Xbox/Bethesda contribution to the line-up in 2022, it will be old (and long forgotten) news when it launches on GP, which is the precise goal of timed exclusives.

Yeah, I can see the brigades trying to do that but the reality is it’s just an “old” game launching on Game Pass whenever it hits.

Like I dont get how people even count Deathloop as an XGS game. Its not unlike Redfall.

IMO sales of the Switch are immune from being affected by the quality of games on the Xbox or PlayStation. I’m not saying this to throw shade but quality of content is essentially irrelevant for Nintendo handheld systems so it’s definitely going to be the successor that finally slows down the sales of the OG Switch.

List wars. Which is apparantly ok sometimes…

Jonah Hill GIF

Xbox did probably close to nothing for that game unlike Psychonauts 2, ToW, Wasteland 3, etc. The only thing xbox it has was that when it dropped The Bethesda merger was done.

It’s not for any meaningful purpose, then, yeah, MS technically owns it, but they can’t even mention it for one year, which is well above the useful window for any non GaaS game.

They thanked Sony in their awards speech at TGA so yeah…
